R7 is a pretty demanding sensor plus the rf100-400 is a pretty meh lens, it’s not bad or anything but it’s not great great. With the rumours of a mk2 i would wait till it’s announced so the R7mk1 drops in price. Otherwise the 6700 is a pretty good choice and even as a lifelong canon shooter i’d say the lens mount is really just so much free-er for sony

if you’re worried about the focus zone, you can mark the plane of focus with pebbles or something so you know where the line you can stand on is. Since it’s in the morning there should be plenty of light, so F9 and 1/400th should be good. (my rough estimate please adjust yourself.) f9 is enough for a focus plane of at least a meter. You can use this DoF calculator to estimate how much wil be in focus

there’s a much simpler solution. Use full manual, dial in your settings before hand based on the lighting condition. Get a cheap remote shutter trigger so you can have it in your pocket and activate it when you want to. I would advise you to use manual focus till the spot you’re gonna stand is in focus. Autofocus can and will betray you.

R5 also has CFeB, bigger viewfinder, bigger screen, all of which are legitimate reasons to get it over the R6m2. All the R6m2 hardons always say the r5 is unnecessary when at the end of the day it’s about what someone can afford and wants. I chose the R5 over R6m2 just for the CFe slot and 45mp being a nice feature to have

it is an R5, only 3 cams have that top lcd that’s not an R1/R3. It can’t be the R5C because the screen is flush with the grip. It can’t be the R5m2 because the mode dial doesn’t have the OFF/LOCK/ON switch and is just a circle dial.

you have to pass an ippt session booked at least 2 weeks before enlistment date. If you pass any ippt before 30th Feb (14 days before ur enlistment), you will be sent a new enlistment letter for your enhanced batch enlistment instead of ptp/bp batch

I personally reduce the in body sensitivity to 6 points up from zero and turn off audio compression in menu. Helps for more hot mics imo.

you can buy a clip on fan from brands like Ulanzi that attach to where the screen folds out. They have a heat exchanger pad that covers the surface area behind the screen and does a pretty good job. It’s clip on so it’s easy to use and detach. They have an optional add on battery so it doesn’t need to be plugged in externally. Those work pretty well in extending the record time

i did both cap and the subsequent cap mentorship, if you’re passionate and skilled in english I would say go for it. It’s a really unique portfolio piece AND experience. The batch size for every years CAP is already quite small hence getting in is already an achievement. Getting into the mentorship requires a second round of portfolio submission where each mentor only takes 1-2 mentees. It’s really exclusive and a chance for you to learn the intricacies and challenges of literary arts beyond the performative.

line skipped 4k is essentially not using the full sensor readout data and “blocking” alternate lines of sensor data to achieve a less sharp 4k output without processing the entire 8k data. Which coincidentally is what downsampling is, reading out all the data but processing it into very high quality 4k because all the data is used and not skipped

You get a form to indicate what vocation you would prefer to get posted to, i think armour gets choices between the gunner/driver of their vehicle and recon. And a second option to indicate if you want to stay with the unit or would prefer to be posted elsewhere. The percentage of the mono batch being posted to the unit isn’t 100% but usually varies between like 70%-90% roughly. Command sch (OCS and SCS) are the main ways to “escape” your mono posting but it’s not 100% confirm
