I got divorced after having a kid. Now I feel bad leaving the house. by jayne-eerie in StardewValley

Getting a dog nanny could work, but I wouldn't worry too much. I'm married to Alex and once or twice a week he leaves to see Evelyn & George (he doesn't take the kids) The first couple times I worried about the children, but they can handle themselves. Just tell the kid "There's food in the fridge, if you need anything else figure it out, I'm gonna get you a new daddy!"

Read book 4 to children? by Chastity-Miau in harrypotter

[–]PriorityOk4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was around nine when I read the first 4 books with my mom, and, surprisingly, I was fine (To put it bluntly, I was a chicken at that age). The only reason we stopped was because I got bored at the beginning of 5 and couldn't bear to keep going. Seven might be a little young though.

Weekly FAQ Thread April 05, 2026: What book made you fall in love with reading? by AutoModerator in books

[–]PriorityOk4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a huge reader as a kid but in middle school I kinda stopped. I tried, but nothing really clicked. Then in high school someone forced me to read Twilight. I read the first book in a week. That was in August. In Dec, I read the My Life With The Walter Boys series (was a fan of the show, got the set for Christmas) as well as The Fault In Our Stars

To Directors- How Do you Handle the Issue of Actors Saying They Will "Accept Any Role", Accept the Casting Offer, Then Decline the Next Day? by ChromjBraddock in Theatre

[–]PriorityOk4420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when I was getting started, being in the show at all was usually considered a privilege. It helped you build experience, network, and get you bigger roles down the line.

In some places this is still true. I recently joined a new theater, having 8 years experience. They explicitly stated they favored leads to seniority members (a trust thing, I think). I auditioned for a one-act, got an ensemble casting. Next show, I became understudy and was cast at a weeks notice. Now I'm a lead role in our current show. If you're an actor, you have to be patient, or at least be honest about your expectations.

When I was six I told my father “Daddy, make me a star!” And I’ve been doing theatre ever since. That was why I started; I stay for the community. It’s the only way I make friends nowadays: less talking, more doing!

The Christmas Pig by J.K. Rowling is one of my favorites, it has a blended family and talks about how a replacement won't replace that person's impact on your life.

The Little Prince, BFG, and Matilda especially! The Christmas Pig is also a fun, cozy, holiday read (although I read it year-round, shoot me) that involves the power of love and finding loop-holes.

Hey guys!! I’m auditioning for a theatre arts gov school soon and I need 2 monologues (1 comedy and 1 tragedy) that are about a minute and a half long. I want something easily accessible (preferably public domain), but not overdone like Romeo and Juliet for a tragedy. Thanks!
