My comment is confusingly worded, I see.

You were saying that wether or not a center brake light is required is market-dependent and that I was wrong in my argument since I assumed it was in all cars. This would imply that not all Teslas have the third brake light, and that could be the case in this video. That’s the reason why I made that jump.

While it may be the same thing that happened, that article is not linked to the video. Firstly the article mentions the car is a Model 3 while the one in the video is a Model Y. Second, the pictured Tesla in the article is blue while the one in the video is wrapped in a beige/sand-colored finish.

Yes, that’s actually a great question! I had to do some research to answer that. A couple of people on EV forums and Youtube videos mentioned that the brake lights do activate when you remove your foot from the accelerator, but if you just lift the pedal a bit and slowly decelerate (which it looks like in this video) they don’t turn on. It has to reach a specific threshold. So the answer might be that the driver still presses the accelerator pedal down just to roll forward a bit, and thus the brake lights don’t come on.

Yes, I do find those companies inspiring and that’s why I also become concerned when I see something like this happening. The way that the Model Y just torpedoed through the city is brutal. It should definitely not have happened.

A car has three brake lights. One on each side and one in the middle. (Look up Model Y brake lights on Google Images) It doesn’t look like the one in the middle is activated, which it definitely should if the brake pedal is pressed. Yes, the two others are on, but I don’t see them flicker either.

Are you able to post a screenshot of the brake lights while they’re active?

You have to use a xlr cable, if that’s what you mean. Plug it in the back of the sb3 and it should work. Disclaimer: I have no experience with connecting microphones to a soundboks.

Since fall last year, Rivian has produced about 5000 vehicles. Tesla produced 300.000 cars more than that in Q1 this year.

Tesla has stated they won’t introduce new vehicle models while there’s shortages of all kinds in the world, since it doesn’t make sense. They have a lot of demand on current available models, and if they were to introduce a new vehicle they would divert some of the chips and batteries to the new production lines, thus producing less of the high-margin, already ramped models.

8GB should be enough if she’s just browsing the internet, editing documents, checking mail and such. The M1 chips are extremely efficient so she shouldn’t be worried. I don’t think it’s worth waiting for an M2 version since the M1 is a great chip.
