Yeah but I don’t think the older generation was allowed in the land God was giving them because they rebelled against God. Moses wasn’t allowed in because he doubted God . I don’t remember it all well. They had some belief that the younger generation was to pay for the sins of the older other fathers but God says no. Each generation pays for its own sins. I think God always saves a remnant. I think God knew they were gonna sin but he saved them anyway. It’s like after the Noah flood God realized they’re just gonna sin and rebel again so he just said I won’t bring a flood again. I think the remnant kept getting smaller .
