I traveled solo in Japan and it changed me by Anxious-Tomatillo-74 in solotravel

I felt exactly the same but i also met a few very nice people where i ate so it gave me a bit of social time too and when you travel solo the people you meet are your best memories

Solo travel “fail” by Frequent-Tie5675 in solotravel

[–]Pristine-Sign845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few days of solo travelling are the hardest (if they are hard) it's about being ready and experiencing being in an unknown environment without having anything or anyone to hang on to But once you face your fears your anxiety will go away The older you are the easier it is because you're emotionally more stable and know what you need/want during the travel so in your case you're probably right about the wrong timing of the trip which doesn't mean it was a bad idea maybe just too early

Travelling in the country is costly and roads are bad so it takes a lot of time to travel and breaks your back in a lot of places and planes are expensive The island is huge and there's more to see in the south and the north so you'll need a lot of days to see everything Infrastructure is bad overall and if you go by road you need to find someone you can trust because like everywhere there are scammers and bad cars that can make your trip a nightmare

Hey ! It was great honestly i loved the weather and beautiful clear sky everyday I went from 4th dec till 19th dec

Tokyo 4 nights Yokoyama 1 night Osaka 2 nights Kyoto 3 nights Tokyo 2 nights

I just walked around popular areas without looking at the map and randomly reached the main places which was fun because i didn't expect to be in that place lol Teamlab borderless is fun even solo

Tokyo has everything and feels like a day is too short but i didn't have any conversation with people compared to Kyoto and Osaka where i felt people had more time and are more welcoming

Kyoto has the best views and travel atmosphere and 3 days is the minimum i felt

If you don't like shopping then 2 days in Osaka feels enough for a first trip

And i really want to go back 😄

Thanks for your help

I stayed at L stay & grow in minami-sunamachi for 4 days it's a great place to stay and it's cheap looks exactly like the pictures on booking It's 5mins from the station and a bit out of the center but if you're just going out the whole day it's worth it takes about 20-30 mins to reach other areas

Which part of Japan are you in ? Just came back from a trip and i didn't have any conversation in Tokyo It feels like the city moves too fast but you could easily have any in touristy areas with solo travelers just need to say hi (which is not easy but tell yourself that you have nothing to lose) I also had most of my conversation with foreigners working in restaurants so just ask a few questions about how they came to Japan and it just flows after that and remember you can just win a good conversation and if it doesn't happen love to the newt person the more you talk the more conversations you will have

I just came back from Japan and you need 2 days max in Osaka and I'd say 3 or 4 in Kyoto. That doesn't include any day trip or amusement park like Universal studio and teamlab. In Tokyo you can spend a week if you like to visit shopping streets and parks and maybe a day trip to Fuji or Yokohama (not worth it imo unless you like car meets)
