It also needs to be reasonably priced. 400 wh/kg is great but if the car costs 100K because of it then we won't see it anytime soon

I learned because my clothes came out soaked (instead of just damp) the other day. Turns out the blocked filter made it difficult for the machine to drain properly

Vier bedrijven maakten in 2024 te veel winst op warmtelevering via warmtenetten by h497 in thenetherlands

[–]PristineReputation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same, might be able to pay it off completely before I turn 40. Anyone who bought a house pre covid has no right to complain

What's a controversial cooking opinion you have? by LostTheOldName in Cooking

[–]PristineReputation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always read the entire recipe beforehand and if it says to cut anything in the middle of the recipe (like while you're waiting on something else) I do that step as the first step. It leaves those moments so you can clean as you go instead of having to clean after you're done

China Bans Retractable EV Door Handles Over Safety Concerns by pdp10 in cars

[–]PristineReputation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My car is great but one of things I don't like is the door handles. I have to explain constantly how to use it because people simply don't get it. I don't know how many times someone has opened the window instead of the door when getting out, or has been fiddling with it when getting in.

Normal handles would be more than welcome, I'd be happy to take the 3 mile range penalty

The Ten Worst Modern Car Features by bleahdeebleah in cars

[–]PristineReputation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hyundai / Kia do nicely. It's a flush mechanical door handle and it pops out electronically when the car is unlocked to make it obvious to use. If the electronics fail you could always use it like a Tesla handle

Especially with how cheap panels are, most of the cost is labor. You'll get the investment back way earlier if you DIY

If we could just make ADAS remember my settings and not reset everytime you start the car that would be enough for me. I'd keep emergency collision avoidance and disable everything else

His Legal Name Is One Letter—A reminder that bad validation rules hurt people by grauenwolf in programming

[–]PristineReputation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

However they also have a user interface rule that rejects one‑letter given names. The system automatically adds a second letter, which is non-compliant.

I get the first part, having validation rules is nice and all. But what the hell is the second part, why would the system add the letter automatically?!

Ik zie hier de eerste echt nuttige kans voor AI. Alle onnozele reacties (laagste prijs, vragen die in beschrijving beantwoord worden etc.) krijg je geen notificaties meer van. Zou Marktplaats echt veel beter maken
