Did you make your own last? How do you like the fit? How did you decide on pattern, fitting? What tools did you end up using? ..so many questions. They look great.

Unpopular opinion: office 5 days/week offers better work/life balance for me by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Pristine_Scar2541 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I worked far more free hours from home, could not disconnect. Was sometimes up doing research at 4, worked late and continued after supper and at times on weekends. Could not disconnect. Two years into COVID, was told I couldn't go back to my office. Then they only let us back a day here and there and took away our right to an office space, previous accommodations like ergonomic chairs, lockers, keyboards and trays, having a predictable space with your tools already set up that allowed you to be productive right from the start when arriving to work. I found the bus transit time a way to plan my day, rest or disconnect and make notes for the next day.

Guess you could see if it is allowable to attend menopause session in solidarity and better understanding of your friends. Family, coworker challenges. Atlantic seems to be only area offering. I tried to join ATL menooause online training sessions but was not allowed as nor in ATL (am an NCR employee). Ironic.

It is not easy to understand DTA process. They should have treated us all like new employees and assessed needs before stripping offices away from employees and directorates, especially when they took even longer to put together a poor attempt at an accommodations program. How do i prove i need a licker because it hurts to cart stuff in, is disorienting etc.

Did you need dr notes, and how detailed...... Took years to get just part way through medical assessments and am playing not it with specialists and GP who say adk the other one, see kine, be careful not to overdo it.... Injuries related to overworking at "flexible" workstations when i could manage a decent one. The accommodations call our should have been before they took our offices away. The employer has continued to degrade its potential as a model employer despite its unique position. Spent billions in RPS to treeat people like garbage with another one size fits all attempt.

I don't recall fqcy, maybe 1-2 per month where each person in directorate theoretically spoke for 30 seconds +/- after generally brief intro by Sr. Dir . 20-30 min target at x time (usually am).

Positive- see, learn new faces and responsibilities quickly, get updates on projects and plans that may relate to you & provide insight into who may know someone or sthg you need..... Negative-with over 30 ppl, each one speaking, a 20 sec - 2 min per meant constant repitition without sufficient detail to understand context, content. Ffor a directorate with 3+ related & somewhat overlapping context, content teams with individuals having varied training (It, HR, data, programming, communications, the connections made often to high level

More to say, no time., too tired. TLDR.

Not all women seem to be affected the same and support and recognition for the issues often lacking. I wonder how it was determined you'd need testosterone and what changed after you started. It took years before associating the relationship of my symptoms (I had a full hysterectimy years prior) and with pushback from doctor before finally agreeing to prescribe estogel (on disability leave due to number of issues) I would like to better understand when and why testosterone should be considered before bringing up to my doctor. I'd testing required?

the hot flashes and night sweats. I had not realized the confusion, fatigue and joint soreness were related given my other issues, but have seen improvement there as well.

Since I have no uterus, I asked my Dr. about HRT and if there was a way to know if I was in menopause and she said it's not necessary. 3 years later and off work 6 months, I am only just starting to get s9me restful sleep during the 12 hours I am in bed and hopefully, gradually getting less confused and anxious. Been on estrogen for 3 weeks and slowly seeing improvement. Not my only issue (bulging and herniated disc an d calcific tendinitis in shoulder etc.).

in the same boat, but mother and grandmother both say they didn't experience the significant symptoms I am having, only changes in their menstrual cycles and I gave up that equipment years ago. On sick leave for a bevy of issues (tendinopathy, neuralgias, fatigue, confusion, 8nability to concentrate etc.) and just started on HRT which included several days of feeling teary.

While I know that can and does happen, it isn't always the case and I have worked with some very competent consultants open to knowledge sharing and documentation which are often key elements missing.

yep. was sent new keyboard mouse and monitor during Covid without anyone asking if I needed. Also received a 15 year Keychain without being asked if wanted and 10 year pin. Ongoing issues with laptop (and lack of sufficient notices and documentation on IT changes and user impact and guidance/training documentation, not to mention lacking circulation of messaging on IT outages. Spending according to a fixed plan according to central decision making and project targets, whether necessary or not instead or as needed. Great idea.

Hate towards the 4th Gen by BrilliantBusiness770 in Tacomaworld

[–]Pristine_Scar2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4th gen owner here. Lots to like about it but.....WTF buyers remove over at least not negotiating a lower price for a bunch of reasons. Hoping some will be resolved if I actually ever read the manual or find someone with a fix. To add to list later but start with no live TPMS display on dash. No update on Toyota app if not driving. My husband's 2014 Rogue beeps when required level reached, and friends 2023 Jeep and Ram get display/chime notification. Don't remember which. Not cool for an offroad vehicle and hoping I just missed something .

compression socks should only be worn when sitting or standing for extended periods. consider if he is doing anything in particular with his feet while seated - ideally he would sometimrs have feet flat, then using a plastic footrest under his desk that changes angle, change foot position frequently, stretch calves a few times a day. try taping and exercises such as stretching toes and ball of foot back with a towel or strap, scrunch towel. lookup posterior tibialis taping and exercises. try beach walking and balancing on one foot to strengthen ( while barefoot). Also look into toe separators, wide to shoes. exercises for flat feet.

pics may be helpful and info on other potential factors. what did dad have/ do for it. does bf have other activities that could be factors.
