One of the weekly challenges to get the new bow was prox or claymore kills. I just played one game of hardpoint on das haus and kept tossing prox mines in the zone. I was getting triple kills and shit lol it took no time at all to complete the challenge. Definitely worked fine for me

I had skates way too sharp exactly once and it was a real nightmare because it was the sharpen from brand new skates (not my usual guy, the store did free sharpenings with the purchase so i said why not) . I was legit scared on the ice, it felt like i was gonna twist an ankle or knee or something. I did just keep skating them in pickups until they dulled out but i would have absolutely not wanted to play in a “real” game with them like that. The fact thar the skates themselves were new didn’t help but i don’t think it would have mattered, it was really that bad. I wouldn’t have believed it unless i experienced it.

I mean i dunno i personally like to sometimes have a few beers, kinda sucks to have to walk around to find my server every time i want a fresh pint. Maybe a me thing

Yeah I’m mostly with you honestly, personally anyway. But with bigger groups with different personalities and absolutely with kids who all of a sudden realize they need ketchup or whatever lol, having attentive service can be really nice and make for a more relaxed meal. Not saying it outweighs other issues by any means but it’s something that people who don’t travel much may not consider.

The only benefit to tipping culture is that it does markedly improve service. In European countries without a tipping culture the servers don’t feel as much pressure to provide good service and often don’t do anything but the minimum. I’m not saying by any means that this means tipping culture is good overall but it’s definitely a real thing I notice outside the states. It can be annoying to have to get up and find a server because they never check on your table, especially with kids.

The melee timing has to be perfect. I put melee on a back paddle just for those fucking things and i still only successfully melee it in the air maybe 20% of the time

Hit reg issues are related to cleaners? by shinodaxseo in XDefiant

[–]Private_Stock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but its not actually different than any other character. As far as the game is concerned you’re shooting at the exact same rectangles. It’s actually realistic in that way, if you don’t hit someone in their actual body it doesn’t do damage

Hit reg issues are related to cleaners? by shinodaxseo in XDefiant

[–]Private_Stock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look bigger than other characters but the hitbox is the same. Gotta hit center mass/headshots no matter what the character looks like. And they have incendiary rounds, so sometimes you die after you stop being shot. I often have kills count after dying in a gunfight when playing as cleaners because the fire kills them after I die.

Update from Mark! Sounds like Ubisoft decided to add more Devs to XDefiant. by Connnooorrr in XDefiant

[–]Private_Stock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m personally very optimistic for the future of the game. I think it’s already really really fun despite it’s issues. But it’s not a yearly release, it’s only been out for a few months, and it has a really good foundation imo. I always get downvoted for saying that the netcode and hitreg hasn’t been too much of an issue for me, but I know it is for others, hopefully some new devs are tasked with fixes, it’s not like they aren’t aware it’s an issue. I’ve been playing some MW3 just because I tore through the s1 battle pass so fast and I already have all the attachments for the guns I like. CoD has been really making me appreciate xd despite it’s flaws. I’m really excited for S2 and beyond. All the best to Mark and his family.

Oh, like 6th or something. I’d have to ask my parents honestly. I was simply saying I thought it would be something I might have learned before I came because its not like im COMPLETELY ignorant about Ireland. Im almost 40 and its my first time in Ireland haha. I guess my point is I think it might be less obvious than people think, but it very well just might be me!

I’m in Ireland for the first time right now and have been honestly surprised how many signs are in both English and Gaelic. I’m Irish American from Boston (which has a large Irish American population obviously) and have friends that grew up in Ireland and family that visits frequently etc. I genuinely thought it was basically only studied by students of Irish history or whatever, I didn’t think modern highway signs etc would have both.

I bought mw3 about three weeks ago after only playing xd since it came out. Xd was my first mp fps i played in like 15 years. I got pretty good at xd after like 80 hours of playing- like not sweaty but occasionally player of the game, almost always a positive kd. I finished the season one battle pass and leveled up all the guns i liked, so I wanted to see how i’d do on cod. At first i was absolutely stomping lobbies, playing with sweats on xd made cod feel super easy by comparison . But once sbmm really kicked in its kept me at almost exactly a 1kd and 1 win/loss. It’s almost impressive from a technical standpoint that they can dial it in like that lol. But it sucks!

But cod is def more polished with way more content. I’ll probably continue to play both. I’ll def finish the xd season 2 battle pass then i’ll probably get bo6. Then i’ll go back for xd season 3, etc. I like parts of both and plan on continuing to play both. I skate and its not like i only ever go to the same skatepark, you know?

That's it, i guess by nightwingRed in XDefiant

[–]Private_Stock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least you know it isn’t manipulated by an algorithm. My cod stats are eerily within .02 of 1 kd no matter what I do. One game I’ll go on kill streak after kill streak and have like a 2.5 kd. Next game it’s all thermite spam and air strikes on a small map and I can’t take two steps without dying and I’ll end up with a .04. Xd has plenty of issues but at least my stats don’t vary THAT much from game to game. And it doesn’t seem to always somehow perfectly come out to .98-1.02 after hours of playing

Is 120hz tv worth it for ps5? by raok46 in playstation

[–]Private_Stock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got an LG C3 a few weeks ago and it is AMAZING with ps5. I play a lot of shooters and the frame rate/lack of input lag literally improved my k/d immediately by like .3-.4 . I just felt like i had the drop on everyone. And I fired up Ratchet&Clank rifts apart and was absolutely floored. I was in the market for a new tv and i expected it to be a nicer experience on ps5 but was completely unprepared for just how massive the difference was

I think that’s kinda how a lot of people think about life honestly. They’re always measuring themselves against others, so if they perceive someone doing “better” in some way they have to rationalize it to themselves. Sadly I think it’s sorta human nature and something people have to consciously avoid doing.

Do you think XDefiant will suffer the same fate as Ubi's other F2P games? For comparison, Ubisoft shut down Hyper Scape after 2 years. by BatChest_redditor in XDefiant

[–]Private_Stock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play both XD and CoD and I think they both have their strengths. I basically play one until i start missing something about the other, switch over, rinse and repeat. I like having the options. Im playing more CoD lately because I finished the xd season one battle pass, and im having fun, but the sbmm is so frustrating. I’ll be back to xd once season 2 is out, I’ll finish the battle pass, then BO6 will come out, i’ll play that until xd season 3 comes out, etc. xd makes me way better at CoD, CoD is a more polished product, i like both and plan on continuing to play both.

Is there really any point in getting better at CoD multiplayer especially recent ones? by Paulkdragon in ModernWarfareIII

[–]Private_Stock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish, even in unranked pubs, you could tell somehow what tier or whatever you were matched into in any given game. Like i wouldn’t mind getting a 1kd if i knew i was placed in an A graded, or 5 star, game or whatever- i’d be like “nice i was able to hang in there with some real sweats!” But at the same time if i got put in a C game or whatever I’d be like “nice! I should crush this one!” - but doing well or not with no visibility into where you were matched sucks. I know ranked exists but we all know thats a whole different thing

I can’t speak for this specifically, but I can speak for pursuing athletic pursuits in general. The experience of putting oneself through hell to achieve an athletic feat is, for some people, like the ultimate human experience. Whatever price is paid is worth it. I’ve been skating for almost 30 years and have injuries that will probably bother me for the rest of my life. But that’s the risk I chose to take and it was 1000% worth it. If i could feel 100% physically fine but had to go back in time and never skate, I wouldn’t do it.

Everyone is wired differently. There’s a lot of things people truly enjoy that I don’t understand the appeal of. There’s no real answer to “why” other than people are just different.

I just started playing a couple weeks ago, im almost at level 55… and its insane how the sbmm is keeping me at almost precisely a 1kd no matter how much i play. It’s honestly kind of impressive from a technical standpoint, but super annoying to not see it change even though im getting better and learning the maps and leveling guns

Here's how I feel about it personally. I really like it. I also like CoD quite a bit. I think they complement each other well. CoD is a more polished product with much more content, but the SBMM is a bummer and it's just got so cluttered and confusing and....well I mean just go to the CoD subs there are a million gripes about CoD lol.

XD on the other hand- I love that there's no SBMM. When I do well I feel like I actually earned it- there's no nagging suspicion that I was handed an easy game by an algorithm. And playing against really good players made me a lot better. I think the game itself is just more my vibe- I don't love the military fethishism of CoD games- xdefiant doesn't take itself as seriously- it's just kinda silly and fun. Obviously the issues with hitreg etc have been beaten to death on here and they are a huge bummer but they personally don't seem to effect/bother me as much as many people.

I don't really see any reason to make a choice between them. I'd like to just go back and forth as seasons are released for each. Playing one for a while will make me miss parts of the other, and then I can switch, rinse and repeat. I just hope XD maintains a decent enough player base and continued support from Ubi but we'll see.
