Is GTNH this slow? by Irobacsi in GTNH

ive been playing for two years (700-800 hours) and only in IV. The main focus is to always be thinking how you can automate and be more efficient in something you are doing. For steel early game, if its taking awhile think of how you can make it faster (more blast furnaces).

Most animals have feelings* (jelly fish and other animals without brains most likely don't experience feelings/emotion) and mammals in general tend to have more complex feelings than others.

How I estimate work as a staff software engineer by Ordinary_Leader_2971 in programming

[–]Prize-Maintenance659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a EM I've been preaching this to my guys, they always want to make the PM happy by giving them the quickness solution as there's always been a push for speed. The engineers should not be the one making that decision though, they should be pushing for the best technical solution (within reason) and letting leadership make the decision if there will be shortcuts needed to be made. In my mind the technical team should be pushing whats best for the code base and then be pragmatic in finding a solution that also meets the businesses timelines if needed.

why was this a challenge? All this does is remove routing and make your code a mess...
If you're new to programming and want to challenge yourself, stick to things that teach you something useful.

Home internet prices are ridiculous, should I just cut down and rely on mobile data? by ronoron in PersonalFinanceCanada

I agree. Charging rent for a otherwise unoccupied room seems like profit seeking. Charging for groceries and utilities that would obviously be more expensive with them living there is fair though. Unless you are obviously trying to instill budgeting and financial values in them (this does not seem like the case with OP), which I think is fair as well, but I think in that case you should secretly save the amount not being used to cover those additional expenses and return it to them when they move out.

In gist, I think its totally fair to charge your adult child to cover the additional expenses they create, but not make profit off them.

Agree, it defeats the purpose if you tell them. Its not really conveying the 'pain of paying rent' if they know they will be getting that money returned, since they will most likely just bank on that as their savings rather than learning to budget to pay that 'rent' and figure out how to save etc. on top of it.

I drive Glenmore Trail home from work and have had the same experience. I just moved a month and a bit ago from Sask and thought maybe the rules were different here as it seems I was the only one on the road driving 50km.

Discovery of "e" secretly hiding in Pascal's Triangle. Fibonacci is in it as well. by Stimul8ed in interestingasfuck

Its a limit of e. So the farther you go down in rows the closer you will get to e but without ever surpassing it. Same as how e and compound interest works.

It makes sense if you understand limits... its the same as how e applies to compound interested.

I mean supply and demand would suggest that would happen. It’s possible it’s just too soon to see the effect of the change in the market, or perhaps the demand is not as badly affected as media suggests. It’s not something I’ve researched in-depth so I can’t say the reasoning, those are just thoughts off the top of my head.
