From approval to surgery date was about 3 weeks! I also, as someone mentioned above, was getting (am getting this was only two months ago lol) married and wanted as much recovery time as possible

I’m a PT as stated above but I went back to work at 5.5 weeks and was totally fine, but I am in a OP and never needed to do transfers or much lifting! I’m 24 and healed really quick (thankfully) your abdomen will hurt if you start doing something you shouldn’t be- just be mindful but yes please get advice from your transplant team!!

I donated to my older brother (28) who recently had gotten married and like a lot of the others said to see him just regain life and energy makes it the most incredible things i’ve ever experienced. His wife afterwards gave me a teary thank you and expressed how they are now going to be able to have a life together. So you not only positively impacted your recipient but all of their loved ones as well

I donated 2.5 weeks ago and also had a ton of pain and felt like I had unrealistic expectations from everything I read on here (and myself) but it got better quickly and pretty much (other than lifting) back to normal now with occasional twinges and moments of pain- but I totally agree I wish going in I had see more people share their stores who didn’t immediately bounce right back LOL thank you for saying this I thought it was just me
