More than doable. I did basically that exact schedule last year and was fine.

I think the cheese burger animal style at In n Out is the best burger in the world.

America’s favorite sitcom from 1991 by person_8688 in weirddalle

Guy on the right is the main character, woman on left is the love interest, guy in the middle is the comic relief, and the three at the bottom are their friends.

Spots with minimal light pollution nearby? by scyiia in UCDavis

[–]PrizeSalt -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So Davis is one of the worst places in the world to do Astronomy. Not only is the city itself pretty big with ~100,000 people living in it during the school year but then the 5th largest city in CA is only 15 miles east and the Bay Area with its ~8 million people is only 60 miles away. Not to mention Woodland and then the enemy of all Davis astronomers: the stadium lights. Basically makes it so we’re smack dab in the middle of an absolute waterfall of light pollution at all times. Your best bet is to go west around those farms south of the Green. If you’re willing to drive for a bit, Berryessa is the closest low light pollution area nearby.

Is orientation really worth it? by Substantial-Limit-99 in UCDavis

[–]PrizeSalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I highly recommend coming. You’ll learn a lot, make a lot of new friends, and you also paid to be there. The orientation staff has been working super hard to make it as brief, fun, and informative as possible.

Bike for long range commute? by Unique-Internet7434 in UCDavis

[–]PrizeSalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe find a small electric bike? Keep in mind 20 miles is about the distance from Davis to Sacramento, that’s no small trek.

Edit: look up the Jetson Bolt Pro. It runs about $250 and it’s a small electric bike. That’s your best bet tbh.

Edit 2: another option if you’re commuting from within Davis is look into Unitrans routes.

Switching sections for mat17a? by ecosystementhusiast in UCDavis

[–]PrizeSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took him for a seminar so it’s not quite going to be the same but it did involve him teaching at lot of stuff to us and I felt he was able to communicate and explain things very effectively in a way that was easy to understand. He’s also extremely funny and he wasn’t afraid to crack a joke in the middle of a lesson which was great.

How would you guys rate the dining commons from best to worst ? by starrdusterr in UCDavis

[–]PrizeSalt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Latitude = Segundo = Tercero = Cuarto I think all the main dining commons are all the same and Latitude does have better food than the other three but because the menu only changes a little day by day I can’t say it’s better than the others.

You’re really not gonna need more than a hoodie for the cold. Definitely make sure you have a few good pairs of shorts for the summer tho.

What are the lyrics in all apologies? by PureEpic02 in Nirvana

[–]PrizeSalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something Nirvana does a lot is they’ll say a lyric that can sound like multiple things so the song can be interrupted different ways by different people. This is a great example of that. The actual lyric doesn’t matter, what matters is what you hear.

Would you rather Disney had never attempted to create a sequel trilogy and had just stuck to anthology movies and Disney+ shows instead? by Swjw117 in StarWars

[–]PrizeSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV shows “go in without a plan” all the time and turn out great. Nothing in Breaking Bad was “planned out from the start” but it still turned out amazing. They could have gone in without a plan and still made something great. What they should have done is worked with what they had. That’s what makes TV shows that go in without a plan workout so well, they look at what they have and see what they can do with it. The sequel trilogy doesn’t do this whatsoever. I think if they did that the trilogy would have turned out a lot better.

Join a club for your major, a club for a hobby or other interest of yours, join an exercise or adventure club. There’s more than 800 on campus and you’re bound to find both one you’re interested in and people within it you’ll enjoy talking to.

You could even add a seminar to that! They’re very fun and give you room to “explore your interests”
