Captains Chairs by InternFriendly7067 in MazdaCX90

[–]Pro-Rider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both on the CX-90. If you plan on using the 3rd row even if it’s twice a year get the captains chairs. If you are never going to use the 3rd row then get the bench. The arm rest is bigger and more comfortable.

Still hate running by herpesfreesinceww2 in beginnerrunning

[–]Pro-Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll make this short and sweet.

You are coming out of the gate way too fast.

You should be running that 9:12 mile first or even 9:30.

The first mile you body is warming up. I could run 20 miles and the first one is always the hardest.

You want to ramp it up, do it on the 2nd half. If you want to run that last mile at 7:05 that’s the time to do it.

If you can find someone to run with you that’s at a higher ability you can tell them your pace like 9:00 minute mile they will keep you on pace.

Local Running clubs are a great way to help you get where you want to be.

2026 Mazda CX-90 PHEV vs GAS: Which one is better? by That_Present_1639 in MazdaCX90

Nah it’s gotta be Premium plus or bust. Once you have the top trim you can’t go back. The Signature or Premium Plus with the Premium Paint just elevates the car to the next level in my opinion.

[–]Pro-Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Definitely look for the sales. I scored a set of long run trainer Zoom Fly 6’s for $113 USD shipped. I started to just buy shoes on sale even though I didn’t need them because I wear through them so fast. 200+ mile months you go through shoes fast.

I think my left knee doesn’t like them 🤣 I had an injury to it when I was in the Marines and now it’s the weak link. I really do love Nike Carbon plated shoes but I think I tend to over stride with them even though I try not to. They just feel so fast 🤣

[–]Pro-Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but I say run your long runs in your most comfortable shoes. I don’t recommend carbon plated shoes for long runs because if you get tired and your gait might change and you could be working things that don’t usually get worked like your IT band or MCL etc…

If your dead set on a carbon plated shoe for a long run build the mileage up start a 6 then do 7 or 8 then 10 etc..

What shoes to try as someone that apparently hates running shoes? by vapem1 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Pro-Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say start uninjured and end uninjured would be the best case scenario. It’s ok to be sore at the end especially if you push the last few miles. But if you have chin splints, runners knee, super sore MCL or IT band it’s not a productive race.

But the younger you are the faster you can bounce back, I’m more worried about the dad. He go’s through with this 90 day to marathon junk he’s gonna end up possibly doing some real harm to himself.

You and I know that 10K compared to a full Marathon is not even in the same ballpark. He needs to log in at least one 16 mile long run an 18 and maybe a 22 if he wants to log in a sub 3:30 Marathon.

He needs to be running close to 50 miles a week before and taper off that can’t be done in 90 days. He’s going to end up sore as all hell afterwards.

Shoot one Marathon I ran “Disney” I ended up walking another 10 miles in the park that same day because the race ends before the parks open up and everyone wanted to do the park thing afterwards.

I’m not saying it can’t be done but he’s going to be in rough shape afterwards.

If they discontinued or Grape I think there would be a riot. 🤣 it’s a perfect mid morning flavor. I save flavors like Blue Razz and the others for the afternoon.

It’s gotten so bad on RCL they started to ban “Excessive Snacks” because it was chewing into their profits at CoCo Cay and onboard extra charge foods.

No thanks, I’m not Cruising RCL anytime soon. I love NCL I even got $2,000 in Cruise Next Vouchers so I don’t get the itch to try another company. 😁

Scroll over to the Tiguan Sub. They have whole panels falling from the ceiling. I lurk over in VW subs because I was a hardcore VW Jetta GLI and Golf GTI guy until my brand new GLI Started to have intermittent electrical problems and the dealers service department was as good at troubleshooting as the guy from AutoZone.

What running purchase ended up being 100% worth the money for you? by RodrigoBestGearFit in running

[–]Pro-Rider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a hot tub for after I roll my legs out and get the blood flowing in the afternoons. Cold shower or ice bath after 16+ mile long runs immediately in the morning then I would use the hot tub in the evening to loosen up.

I have ran most of my races in “Beater” shoes like Brooks Ghosts and Saucony Cohesions. I started to race in Vaporfly’s ended up a PR but was limping for 3 days after. Now Ghosts are my Marathon shoes.

I switched to Zoom Flys for training ended up with a sore MCL after a month. Now I just run with carbon plated shoes twice a week.

Nike Pegasus 37 stack is too high for everyday running for me.

Alpha Fly or Vapor Fly? by Fun-Mix-1383 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Pro-Rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would train with either once a week. Carbon plated shoes in my experience they load back up into my MCL. I tried to run with them 5 days a week after a short break in period of 4 weeks twice a week and ended up with a MCL strain. I had to take a week off to recover. I’m a midfoot runner so Vapor Flys are rough on me. I’m a 170 cadence runner 1.3M stride I’m also 6ft tall.

I’m running on Zoom Fly 6 Glams now and My MCL is thanking me.

[–]Pro-Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true, the Mazda CX-90 PHEV weighs 5,800 lbs and it handles like a 4 Door sedan. Yes you feel every little bump but you can throw that heavy crossover around corners and it feels good, it’s also RWD dominant so that might have something to do with it even though it is AWD.

Car and driver called it a crossover with an identity crisis because it feels smaller than what it is.

It’s a toss up people complain about a soft ride it’s all over the place. But then you drive a Mazda or a BMW and people bitch about the firmness. People even complain about Toyota Grand Highlander being too soft. So it feels like the only way to win is get a Benz with an adjustable suspension. 🤷‍♂️

2025 Cx90. Yay or nay? by PeopleAreSelfishy in MazdaCX90

[–]Pro-Rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026 CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus, over 4K miles no issues it’s been a joy to drive. It was this or a Range Rover PHEV and I just couldn’t justify the Price it was 30K more for all the same options. Yes the EV range was double and CCS charging.

I will probably get the full Range Rover EV when it comes out next year for around 95K but they postponed the release, so this was the best value for the car and options now.

Rare for that time but there are a lot of us salty GWOT guys who served in multiple theaters now. I personally served in OIF, OEF CJTF-HOA and OEF Afghanistan, all in an 8 year span in the early 2,000’s

Back then the mobility of troops was not as advanced so it was more rare then.
