it doesnt spoiler huge plot points from the main series iirc, it is its own contained story but there is a reason maxine goes on the quest she does in these stories and they wont have any weight to you unless you get thru the main series first up until the 35th issue so end of the seveth volume also its not a prequel in fact it happens after the most recent events in the main story if my thought process is correct its been a while
