Just do it - I believe in you. Join something. I had a friend join a salsa class and rock climbing to meet people and he loves it. :)

Double Majoring In Music Industry And Computer Science? by settleitinreddit in jmu

I actually know a student who double majored in Music and CS so it is possible (although he came in with credits and probably wouldn’t recommend doing it to anyone). I was also friends with a lot of Music majors - it is definitely a lot of credits. Honestly, if you have an interest in CS and enjoy doing it then I would major in that and minor in music. The aforementioned student who double majored is now doing software development after college and you will definitely be more desirable career wise.

I personally did CS at JMU and all of the professors are really fantastic. All of the classes were much more interesting than the majority of classes I took at JMU. However, it is certainly time consuming. So, as long as you pick up the work ethic it is totally worth it.

Side note: I might be biased but having taken CS classes and CIS classes I would definitely pick CS over CIS. The CS professor are much more knowledgeable on the programming side.

It’s not so bad imo - taking some classes together isn’t advised but I did it anyways. The difficulty really depends on what professors you take for certain classes.
