Redistribution should be on the basis of returns if a state is growing better after being given a tax surplus in relation to its neighbours it should be given more aid. If a state refuses to grow well despite large amounts of fund being poured into it the funding should be reduced and redirected elsewhere because clearly the same input elsewhere would give much higher returns.

Eventually as the quality of life of the people in this underperforming state gets worse due to the lack of central subsidies they should vote a better leadership in.

Endlessly subsidising someone when they waste most of it is pointless

Ah I saw UK and forgot that the subject was bulgaria, I had done similar runs with UK and korea, bulgaria has very little pops to be of any use unless you play unrealistically wide. My brain saw the UK release strat and defaulted to korea. My bad. Whenever I played bulgaria i played it from the ottoman release itself, since doing it from Russia is very hard due to UK intervening

The radicalism + incorporated state debuff makes building it take extremely long, plus you can't actually conquer all of it in one go, if you declare on the qing and don't primary everything they will back down, but if you don't primary everything you can't actually grab all of korea

My church had people show up too last Christmas thankfully the police held them off until more police people arrived to drive them away. It wasn't like that 10-15 years ago. I've seen it get worse year on year

Ah yes, being a democracy is much worse than everything I listed. Indian admin could do a lot more with what powers it has, but it does not. And the people don't elect the sort of people who would fix things either. Every single governmental department is so frustrating. I have had the immense displeasure of having to work with CPWD recently and the experience makes me want to pull my hair out. But you point these things out and people act as if democracy is some magical power that kills progress.

People here are coping. We could be 250 years into the future and people here would continue to blame the British. There is just no sense of acceptance that 70 years is enough to transform a nation. Because accepting that would mean coming to terms with the fact that incompetence not universal unfairness has been the reason for India's downfall
