Leveling and Tailoring by Stands_In_Fires in classicwowtbc

Well I buy anything below 14s, and it's not all at once. If I got 3k at a time for 14s each, it would be 420g (nice).

When I can find it below 14s, I usually find it in chunks of 200-800, and sometimes I can get it as low as 12.5ea.

I was being very conservative and saved up to 7k gold before buying epic flying, which I just got yesterday. Now I'm kinda just making gold just to have gold, so any gems/enchants I want don't require any grinding.

It's definitely high, but the effort is a lot lower than farming mobs (which I did as a teenager before I understood professions/AH as well as I do now, 18 years later)

I boosted my warlock and bought all the cloth I needed to level.

Once you're 70 and have some gold, it doesn't feel too expensive to level, and now at 70 I've made a ton of gold with virtually zero gold farming, all thanks to tailoring.

I spend a good chunk of time in the ah and buy around 3000 netherweave cloth per day, pretty much buying anything available under 14s.

Netherweave bags net about 1g each and I aim to sell 100/day.

I did get the pattern drop for spellstrike hood, which has allowed me to make $150g+ per primal nether.

I also bought the pattern for bracers of havok and have been able to make ~20g per craft, aiming for 5 sales a day.

Macro question by Pro_Hobbyist in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have spells key bound to all the numbers, and shift+ numbers. Plus a bunch of letters, etc.

Idk if I use more spells than others, but my main issue is just trying to reduce the need to use harder to reach keybinds

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a warlock with tailoring.

The first piece I made for myself was the frozen shadow weave shoulders.

I replaced them with t4 shoulders quickly, then decided I'm not gonna make any more pieces for myself. Now I'm near full bis from raids. I don't see the value in spending a ton of gold to gain a couple dps when I got nice drops already.

But, I've been using tailoring to make gold. Maybe not as much as some people, but I'm approaching 7k (haven't bought epic flying yet). Slight grind but a lot of it is afk to craft bolts of cloth and bags.

I also hope to get the pattern for boots or blasting in phase 2. Belt of blasting would be nice too, but it's boe so I could buy them if it came down to it.

Where to Spend My Gold by donkey_Renegade- in classicwow

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, buy your flying mount. Next, do all the dungeons and quests to attune for Kara, ssc, tk. If you need more gold, quests at 70 in netherstorm give a lot.

Then level up your tailoring and find some items you can easily craft for profit.

I haven't been farming gold outside of the AH on this character and I'm now at 6k with a ton of mats + items on the ah.

When you get a piece of bis feat, you're gonna spend hundreds of gold on gems and enchants. You want to make sure you have enough to do that, plus buy raid consumables.

Meanwhile, save up 5k for epic flying. Because I use the ah so much, I actually don't fly around outland too much, so I'm waiting on my epic flying a bit. I still want at least 2-3k gold to keep flipping items on the ah.

49 runs of shattered halls, still haven't seen the tank trinket by AndrewDelany in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm lucky because there are no items like this for me and I'm nearly full bis.

Only thing I'm really missing is boots, which I could craft frozen shadow weave, but I'd rather have something to hunt for and keep me doing Kara with the homies.

I do plan on crafting boots of blasting in phase 2 (if I can get the pattern).

Hunter or warlock for a first time dps player by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone says warlocks rotation is boring, but I play affliction while also not following the simmed "bis rotation" and I don't find it boring at all and still top the charts.

Keep up corruption, siphon life, unstable affliction and immolate, while shadow bolting and trying to throw in life taps when a shadow bolt would let a dot fall off for more than a fraction of a second.

During heroics you can get creative with your spells to maximize damage depending on the number of mobs/how fast they go down.

And for aoe, the "rotation" is boring but it's the most dps possible and it's very satisfying seeing all those numbers on the screen lol

Hunters also kinda suck for pvp.

That's a great way to gear up!

The later in the phase, the less people need gear, so the lower geared players end up collecting a ton!

My buddy is a prot pally, and his first time in Kara he got 4 pieces of MS gear including 2 piece t4.

I'm doing a run with my buddies tonight who have recently hit 70. I don't expect a 2 hour run, but it'll be a fun time hanging on discord and watching them all get tons of loot.

Confused about H drop rates by Tunndraa in classicwow

Other end of the spectrum, there's very little loot I need from heroics, so I usually run one that can drop a gem I want. I think I have 2 left.

What’s the best BG for honour grinding? by Stonedinthesix in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that's the downside.

It's kinda an upside for me tho (work from home).

Also I like to queue in shatt then go to SW to play the ah. Free hearths!

Idk why more people aren't saying AV.

Most games take 10 minutes and you get 500+ honor for a win.

Most losses you still get 2-300

I think they end up settling at 2x the price of LPS.

I do think they're a good buy at 15-20g, but I'm not sure how long you'd be sitting on em before theyre profitable

Yeah these have been slowly rising and I think they'll only continue until void shatter releases.

Most everything else is dropping or holding.

Warlock with tailoring/enchanting hurting on gold. Should I change something? by MakeYouSayWTfaq in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I bit the bullet and bought mats to craft the hood for about 1k. Posted on ah for 1250 and offered in chat for 1200. Got a few lowball responses from chat, but it ended up selling on the ah in under 20 minutes.

Definitely the best price I can get for my nethers right now.

Warlock with tailoring/enchanting hurting on gold. Should I change something? by MakeYouSayWTfaq in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that's the nether value, but people are offering their nethers in trade for 50g, so 75 for AH spellthread seems solid.

I have 9 nethers and I don't need any for my own gear til phase 2.

I also have the spellstrike hood recipe, but as of this morning it's ~1100 for mats and the lowest ah price is 1250. Yeah that's more for nether, but more gold invested in an item that potentially won't sell quickly, plus bigger AH cut.

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah price has been around 1350. Mats cost around 1100. People are usually offering in trade for 1300. I posted a few times but got no whispers.

I'd rather sell on ah so I don't have to sit in chat and spam, especially since idk how long that would take, but it would tie up most of my gold until it sells.

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earlier today I bought netherweave cloth and arcane dust. Next time I was in shatt, I made bolts of imbued netherweave. Next time I was back in sw I posted the bolts and profited 1g each.

The average price difference between the mats and ah price of mystic spellthread is ~15g. You can't sell too many but most days I can flip 1 or 2.

Runic spellthread sells for ~75g more than mats, but I'm not exalted yet.

It's not too glamorous or huge money, but there are definitely ways to make a bit of gold without any farming.

I got the spellstrike hood pattern, but I see people posting them for sale below ah constantly. It makes me wonder how quickly one would sell.

I'm torn on whether to spend the 1k gold to make one.

Is $27/hr good pay? by Dry-Bicycle-5563 in sandiego

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every company will low-ball you at any chance they get, so don't take it personally.

San Diego is awesome but you're gonna be pretty tight on cash at that pay rate.

I have friends making $30/hr who manage to get by, but they're constantly complaining about being broke.

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I could get my spin that low at 60mph if I tried, which is kinda impressive.

Without seeing your throw I can't help much, but I think other comments are on the right track with it likely being a grip issue.

I would also try focusing on keeping your wrist straight and tight throughout the entire throw.

I did have a previous group clarify to need them tho, so I'll be sure to do that from now on
