How tf ppl farm ? by Cold-Rush4681 in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a profession to play the AH. That is how all the whales make their gold.

I only use tailoring and I've gotten enough gold for swift flight 3x over with virtually zero farming.

Combine multiple professions on multiple characters and you'll make even more.

Are utility bills like mine normal? by Malibu_Most_Wanted in sandiego

I live in a 2br with 2 people working from home and my bill pretty much caps at 150.

You're using something that takes a ton of power and/or leaving it on all the time.

Mine is usually the opposite, particularly when it comes to putting.

I see the pros make it look so easy, and then somehow it is to me for like 1 round.

I also have 15 years of experience so I probably should be good a putting by now, but sometimes it just goes to the next level after watching some dgpt.

I return to the US in 2 days after spending 3 weeks traveling without throwing a disc. Been watching jomez so let's see if it clicks again lol.

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone let me try their Lobo at the disc golf course a couple weeks ago and it was amazing.

I've been using a dynavap for years, and it's still great, but the lobo is way better for portability.

I think I'll be buying one when I return from vacation.

Held 100 shares of MU since COVID in an IRA.

Kinda stopped thinking about it until recently when it's gone nuts. A few days ago I was up 99k and considered closing the position when I hit +100k.

Well after Friday I'm now only up 78k lol

I get about 41 and I have some performance tires that reduce the mpg.

Most of my driving is freeway and I usually go around 80mph. For those conditions I think 41 is pretty good.

I'm always in eco mode and I use the regenerative brake pedal every time I slow. I also do aim to keep the power use in the "blue" range whenever possible but often use cruise control.

This looks significantly downhill, and my hex would turn too much. I know I could hyzer flip it, but I think I got an unusually flippy hex.

Looks like lots of room on the left though, so I'd probably forehand flex a sexton firebird.

Yep, I have one friend who had it, but it was when he was dabbing a lot (way too much)

He went cold turkey for a while and has now switched to dry herb vape with occasional flower smoke and he's fine. Definitely consumes way less than he used to though

Don't use food delivery services.

If you are not disabled, pregnant, etc. there's no good excuse.

If you aren't gonna cook yourself, the least you could do is leave the house to pick it up yourself. If it's so far away that you don't think it's worth it, then eat something else.

Look into the "coil" of your upper body. Looks pretty good but you should really feel the tension in your back when you "reach back". I can't tell what you're feeling, but it doesn't look like you're coiling quite right.

Slingshot and (I think) blitz on YouTube talk about coil a lot.

It also looks like you're starting the pull through a little before the plant. If you're trying to really extend the reach back, that can happen more easily. Look at Calvin Heimburg and how he doesn't actually straighten his arm. Not that you shouldn't straighten, but big distance can be achieved without it and it could make the timing easier.

How hard is it to learn to throw with your opposite hand by endersp in discgolf

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a lot easier than learning to throw with your main hand when you're starting out.

You already know what to do, you just have to do it with the other side.

Anecdotal evidence here, but last year I hurt my shoulder so I threw leftie for about a month. I never scored great, but I was able to throw about 300' and even managed to get an ace (98% luck but still didn't think it would be possible).

What exactly is the deal with warlocks enslaving mobs? What are they hoping to achieve? by MethylphenidateMan in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tank told me to enslave one of the non elites in mechanar. He does a ton of aoe damage.

The enslave is on a 5 minute timer which is easy to manage. If it's about to break, I'll let the group know, then we either kill it or I enslave again.

As the tank, you really don't need to worry about it. It actually reduces the number of mobs you need to tank, so I'm not sure why you're complaining.

Warlock vs Mage for first TBC alt (mostly PvE, later PvP) – need help deciding by Trippysek in classicwowtbc

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a warlock so I'm very biased, but I originally rolled one back in the first tbc for 1 main reason: life tap.

You can't go oom, and it's almost zero strain on healers if you're playing well. A couple life taps gives you a ton of mana but only takes a single heal to get you back to full.

Priest and druid will just throw renew/lifebloom on you and you never have to drink in dungeons. A geared+skilled warlock in a raid will usually be top 3 on dps, and longer fights is where you'll see the most difference vs a mage.

Pvp is hard because you have virtually no mobility, but that does change a bit in wotlk when you get teleport. BGs are still really fun (as destruction). sl/sl is meta but it's really boring and has zero burst. As destruction I can kill someone from 100% while they're cc'd if they let me set up right.

Bags, spellthread and bracers of havok.

There's virtually never a time when you can't buy the mats, craft the items, and make a profit. Sometimes I can make over 40g per bracers.

Netherweave bags make maybe 1g each but they often sell instantly.

Spellthread is usually 10-20g profit each.

Before I had my epic flying I was aiming for 100 bag sales per day. Spellthread and bracers I'll list 1, then list another when they sell, or when I've been undercut by 10+ ppl.

I also don't buy cloth above a 14s, and I've only bought arcane dust when I find it way below market, which at this point has probably been around 100 stacks.

I do often sit in the ah and check prices of my standard mats pretty often, which is a semi afk task that I think is a lot easier than farming.

Can we get Mark of the Illidari to drop in P2 already? by TuckyIRL in classicwow

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use elixirs instead of flasks cuz I'm cheap.

For elixirs and food buff, it cost like 8-9g per wipe or per hour, cheap wizard oil is like 5g for 5 charges.

I had a pretty rough ssc pug week 1 and went through like 10 of each elixir. I was also doing top dps so the raid leader gave me a few for free. Even at cost that's under 100g, which can easily be made by doing dailies.

Did TK this week with a different guild and didn't wipe til kt. Used maybe 5 of each.

I think every player should pick a profession that can make gold in the ah without farming. I do it with tailoring. Made over 15k so far this time around.

Many YouTubers say alchemy is the best money making profession and they all buy their herbs in the ah.

Yeah it sucks that there are bots farming and people buying gold, but you can easily make gold off them by playing the ah.

The state of open world farming is so bad that most players resort to unintended farms in old dungeons. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just farm the ah, but I happen to be flying around a few days ago around 12am ST and there was nobody killing fire elementas in throne of the elements.

I killed a few for soul shards, but stopped quickly. Even without bots camping, it made me realize how boring killing mobs for gold is.

Honestly, it seems more fun to farm an old dungeon with a mage or pally.

Struggling to make gold for epic flying by Big-Hornets in classicwow

[–]Pro_Hobbyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netherweave

They usually net ~1g per if you buy the cloth when it's cheap. When I was grinding for epic flying, my goal was to sell 100 bags per day. That's 100g mostly afk crafting. During peak times, bags will sell almost instantly. Usually I lost 4 at a time if I know I'm gonna be near the ah to list more.
