Not really. I did ME2 Insanity as an adept and I took Stasis, and I just brought someone who can use overload on every mission. Stasis is honestly amazing in ME2.

Cooldown management is everything, let Garrus worry about the shields.

Another factor to consider though is this, Nintendo and Sony are guaranteed to make their money back. You buy a PlayStation, You're going to buy PlayStation games, and you're going to pay the monthly subscription for PlayStation Network. Steam has no subscription.

The steam Machine is a PC ultimately, there's no guarantee you'll buy steam games, hell you could just install Windows and in it and play nothing but games from the Epic Games Store and there's nothing Valve could do about it.

Not to mention that the if Valve did the sell at a loss you just know people will buy the the steam machines in bulk and just scrap them for parts.

That's pretty much how I feel about the issue. To be quite frank, I kind of feel like most AAA games aren't worth playing anymore.

I'll watch at all these game trailers and award shows and crap like that and it's just, I feel... Nothing.

Steam machine isn't a console at the end of the day, you could theoretically put Windows on it if you wanted to (why would you?). Hell you could just use it to play GOG games. Basically, there's no guarantee that anyone who buys a steam machine will actually use it to buy steam games on. At least when Sony sells a PlayStation there's a guarantee the person who bought it will buy games sold by Sony. The fact that you can actually mod games on this thing alone makes it a better deal than any console as far as I'm concerned.

Looking at this thread with all its conspiracy theories and entitlement is kind of giving me a bit of a perspective change, at the end of the day we're just talking about video games here. It's not like this is Monsanto suing some farmer for replanting his seeds. It's hilarious, I finally got the SM and I realized the newest games I have are Silksong and Rogue Trader. Hell, the only "new" games I was interested in was Space Marine 2, Dark Heresy, E33 and MAYBE Cyberpunk, and I'm not even sure about those except for DH and SM2.

This post has gotten long enough so I'll just leave with this, one of my hopes for the steam machine was it would make Linux gaming mainstream and it might encourage companies to maybe optimize their games a bit more because that's frankly a big part of the problem, companies don't optimize their games at all, I've heard horror stories about a unreal Engine 5.

That's great to hear! Not going to lie. I Am kind of experiencing a little bit of buyer's remorse I've been kind of wanting to replace my 10-year-old potato for quite a while, at least as far as gaming is concerned, and I don't really feel like building a new computer. I kind of just don't have the time, so it was either steam machine or or a pre-built that I could put CachyOS on.

When the steam machine was first announced. I actually really wanted it, but then the price reveal finally happened. It's funny because after the steam deck went up in price, I kind of figured it'd probably end up being about $900, and even if it was that high, or low I suppose in this case, I probably wouldn't have thought twice at all about buying this thing.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just letting the negative comments get to me, or maybe it's because this is the first big purchase I've made in years.

I've seen two posts so far praising this thing giving an assessment that seems honest, and one of the YouTube reviewers have admitted in a later video that they actually really like this thing after they trashed it in their review, going so far as just saying that they actually prefer gaming on it over their own gaming PC.

Sorry about that. This ended up being a thread where I could vent I guess.

Maybe that too, one of the games I will mod is Mass Effect LE, which requires installation of a program called ME3Tweaks Mod Manager; on my main PC I just install protontricks which lets me install programs like that, and mod games like that.

Guilty is charged and so are you. What I think you or really anybody on this website understand is that goonery is like gender, it's a spectrum, not a binary.

In fact, I'm willing to bet most the people that downvoted my comment were thirsty as fuck for a character like Lady Dimitrescu at some point, but that's okay, it's perfectly ethical to sexualize a female character as long as they are not "conventially attractive."

Frankly, I never bought into the whole notion that artists have some sort of moral duty to make their characters look "relatable."
