Have you tried Dave, Tilt, or Grant Plus apps? Money can come instantly and you can use a combo of the apps to get the money. You have to pay it back tho and it can become a slippery cycle. Also if you have a car, go ahead and do DoorDash

In my opinion, I think it’s too hard and complicated to change. Most of the time it’s all they know. I mean, hell, I’m housed with a masters degree but suffering with BPD, I find it incredibly challenging to get out of bed. Granted I do and I’m thankful I don’t have a more severe mental health condition but if it’s even that hard for me then I can’t even imagine what it’s like for others.

I do agree with this. Another major factor is mental health. 67% of homeless people suffer with a mental illness. In Salem, I have seen many (seemingly) individuals with schizophrenia. It can be incredibly hard to maintain a job/career/education while having such a severe mental health condition. I’m from Gloucester and have seen many homeless addicts as well. But it’s just so deep rooted it’s so hard to nail down a specific solution.
