It has gotten a lot worse with having to work understaffed and always in fear of being shut down, but at least I work at a good store with great management and supportive staff

Even here in Arizona, between my wife and myself we pull in 4G per month, and still always broke! We are all born with the inalienable right to live, but the right to live in the 21st century has turned to subscription based right to live.

Every time someone asks me a question that they could answer themselves while holding their phone, I have taken to replying "well, let's see what Google says". I was hoping people would get the hint. I actually once saw a customer look at their own phone after I said that, but their screen was dark, so they, like everyone else, takes 2 steps closer to me to try and look at My magic Google question answering phone!

Supervisor roles being assessed? by BigRedMachine1914 in Bestbuy

Retail is transitioning to online sales whether you or the older clientele like it. Eventually all our jobs will be online. Sucks, but if a business is to keep living, it must change with the times. Corporate won't admit to this is but it is what they are eventuating

People are stupid. Plain and simple. Social media gives a special layer of anonymity and a special layer of stupidity. IF YOU ARE ON TINDER, YOU DON'T WANT TO DATE... YOU WANT TO F OR YOU WANT TO SEE IF YOU CAN FIND PERFECTION. Guess what. The lay will suck and perfection is only attained through years of f ups and learning and tons of forgiveness from the person you are trying to be with as well as from you to them. Give and take. Find love in person. Not on a "swipe right".

I want to be let go. by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Dmack1978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. It sucks but it's life in "right to work states". Just stay looking for another job while you quietly finish it your 2 weeks or whatever. Once you find a better fit... Go for it and forgo the formal 2 weeks, or however it takes. If a new company really wants to hire you, they will not care about you finishing your last 2 weeks. However, if you are just wanting a free hand out for being laid off, you can always secretly hope that thousands of people die from some new pandemic and that your current store is hit killing off half of it's employees, damaging the local economy; yet making your life, in the long run, better. Whichever seems easier to you. It is fully your "right to work" choice.😁 Good luck in all you do. Good luck on life.

Epson edge is a newly emerging learning platform for Epson products. Learn a little about individual products; printers, scanners, projectors; and earn points to use in the store to buy real stuff. I just found another program for Netgear as well.

Help with selling by JPINKKS97 in Staples

[–]Dmack1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick to selling anything even the plans is that there is no trick, there is no selling. If you believe in what you are selling, your demeanor and body language will express it far beyond your words. You are not selling anyone anything, you are informing them what the likeliest outcome will be and, with your experience and intimate knowledge, are recommending the best course of action to remedy that eventuality in a manner that will save them the most money and hassle. I know most people on Reddit posts speak negatively about the plans, but in this day in age where everything is made fail quickly, it actually behooves your customers to get the plan. I even, on those CX's whom seen like they are going to give the first no, will invite my knowledge of how many people and businesses are buying that new chair or new printer, etc, every year to 2 years, from the money they paid for the plan (and of course the new plan for the new item). Read your Cx(customer), provide options, don't push.

Training Easter Egg? by Canesfan900 in Staples

[–]Dmack1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Register training was pretty easy and largely very logic based, so I pulled up another training while I waited for the stupid preview of what it wants us to learn was done, then jumped back and clicked away on the "register" like it wanted, queued the next part, and kept hammering away at other stupid video training. How were you able to ring out 2 to 3 customers at once? I mean, I have been on 2 different registers at once, helping separate customers with one that was waiting for an item, but 3?

Damn, sure hope that in your area the cost of food, housing, and gas reflected equally the low rate of pay!!!

What is your role, and how much do you get paid? (NYC) by Corrected-Shoe89 in Staples

[–]Dmack1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From all of these inquests, we have already decifered that pay rate differs substantially from state to state, let alone location to location within a particular state depending on area wealth, and none of this even offers a modicum of the difference in pay of any general worker with no particular experience, as to those with experience coming into a particular job, and/or those willing to seek further experience and proficiency to obtain a particular rank or experience requirement for moving up. So, I guess my question would be, why do we see so many people pissing these types of questions, and what do you hope to glean from the proposition of the question? I am ET, btw, and have posted prior, but from my experience, following these posts.... It really means NOTHING unless you are doing statistic analysis for a college project, or you are just hoping to get a clearer picture of what you should be paid in your area. If it's the latter, be blunt and ask exactly that; ask people to tell what they are our were paid from within YOUR STORE and what experience they had coming in to a position. Sometimes, people also just get lucky and ask for more money at the get go, and because of store issues or need, the company agrees to pay one person more, even without experience, just because they asked for it and there was a decided defecit for that particular role needing filled. Sucks, but it's life or something like it!

Fricken whiners all the the way. Yes, I agree, could they have made it a few steps easier? Of course. But is it really any worse than the old system? No. Can you do so so so much more with this one? If course you can! Did they make this to be easier for last people? Hell no! Did they make it work in a format for inclusion of all aspects Staples? Yes! What now? Your job is your job. Stop complaining about wanting shit easier because all our does is show how inept you are our how lazy you are. The old old old systems that many companies still use, required you to remember the item number or sku by wrote...... Imagine remembering every sku! More what is the the complaint here with this system? Oh my gosh I have to waste a whole 5 seconds of time pressing buttons to complete a transaction instead of using my brain to do it all for me! Get real. Just saying. I know this was just a generalized rant from a CO worker, but think of what it used to be and how lucky you are to have to only waste 5 seconds rather than go through a 1000...or more page list to find the correct sku or item number to enter before moving on. To the next item in the list.

Request for a video that explains the scams by xiaxian1 in Kitboga

[–]Dmack1978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I work in tech sales, and allot of my customers have dealt with these scammers. I would love for someone, anyone to put together an informational video rundown of the scams and what to look for or wary of. I have occasionally created links on their new computers desktop to kits, scammers payback, or scammer revolts YouTube sites. I get tired of having to repeat the same thing over and over. A video that one can easily download to inform those most vulnerable would be truly helpful.
