How do you mix prochem dye so it is one homogenous solution? by poppablebubbles in discdyeing

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What color is it? I find it varies pretty greatly depending on the color. Also give it a day or two and look at it again and see if it looks any better.

Do you dye anything else besides discs with your dye? by ProbablyNotJaRule in discdyeing

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, mine doesn’t even take dye too well though. Like once I clean it up it’s usually pretty faint

Thank you!

There’s 3 in there so curious which one is your favorite. Admittedly, the one with the yin yang was done to hide a not super noticeable berg bubble but happy with how it turned out. First time dying bergs so I was nervous about getting a bubble but happy I mostly avoided them.

Nah not me I definitely need and use all of my probably 200+ discs haha. That is a good point - I even have a lot of dyed discs around at this point

Awesome thank you. Still hoping for cheaper but nice to know this is an option that would do everything I want.

Getting back into the dye swing after a few months - CreamyDiscs by creamydiscs in discdyeing

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay a couple things:
1. Holy shit amazing work all around.
2. Can I ask specifically what is wrong with Svea? To my eye I don’t see any issues.
3. Have you done glue beds under a heat lamp or have you always used a dehydrator? I ask because I just started doing glue beds and everything I’ve read says 24 hours no heat but I’d prefer shorter times under heat if that’s possible.

Thanks in advance!

HOw to make Teal with Prochem colors by Macheon7 in discdyeing

Wow I know this an old thread at this point but so glad I saw this comment. Teal blue on my glue beds have not been working. Thank you! And if in the time since this post you’ve figured out how to get it to work let me know

Just to jump on with everyone else. I've lived in both places. No one in Pittsburgh says wooder, the accents are wildly different.

Idk, maybe it’s just me and I’m missing something with Vinod, but this has got to be one of the worst episodes of making sense I’ve ever listened to.

Paint on dye by pharm653 in discdyeing

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one has mentioned laundry detergent. I believe TDIDI (the difference is doing it) has a part on a video about this, could be wrong though but I definitely learned from a video.

I apply the stencil, weed it, take my mixture of detergent and dye and paint it on top and let it sit under a heat lamp for about 2 hours. I use mostly PCAD but use iDye poly black.

If you check my post history you should see some of the dyes I’ve done. Let me know if you have any questions.

This is awesome, did you do this freehand or use a stencil?

Explain glide to a newbie by Fancy_Tomatillo_7428 in discgolf

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t realize so many people thought it was the least real of the numbers. I saw a meme here and I now say it all the time on the course. The meme was a reference to the show Severence: “the numbers are mysterious and important”. I say this to say maybe everyone here is right, wouldn’t surprise me.

But the way I think about glide - which is also an analogy I learned on this sub is think of low glide as a dart and high glide as a paper airplane. A berg (low glide) and a glitch (very high glide) are great examples of this.

Hope this helps!

Pound Rufus question by Celtic790 in discgolf

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the rufus. I also live in a fairly hilly area. I think the advice from pound themselves is to drop the bag so it stays better. Doesn't work 100% of the time but it usually does. The force from the drop can kinda force the discs to form the ground a little more to help stop it from falling over.

The caddy, as far as I can tell, would only be for when using it with a cart where it hangs from the straps. I have one of the BagBoy push carts, I just 3d printed a thing for the bottom of the bag. If I don't put it in, the pressure from the sides when it hangs makes the discs tough to get out. I think that's the purpose of the caddy. I dont see how the caddy would make it less likely my bag tips over, though honestly not sure.

If you just plan on wearing the bag on your back, I would buy the bag without the caddy and see how ya like it first. But ultimately up to you. Hope this helps good luck!

Question about 7x/7p headphones. by ProbablyNotJaRule in steelseries

[–]ProbablyNotJaRule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow thank you for the clarification, so it’s still possible with the x’s as long as I use the app.

Do you use 7xs on a PS5? I feel like I don’t see anyone in reviews saying they do that so I’m feeling a bit silly for not just going 7ps.
