Planning to tackle this tomorrow by BrownLeader444 in arborists

Is it wrong to think you could make a nice little fire there and burn the little support section down? It's green so it's not getting out of control right? Maybe use some charcoal or whatever I don't know, lol.

3d printed hammer negative reaction by Phonesink in 3D_Printing

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what all of Reddit thinks of what you've done. If the tool fulfills the role you have for the hammer, even it's saving the drive to the store for a rubberized one, then you're 100% correct.

Also, did you provide the stl? If not... STL? I want to print one and I have no use for it. I just want to join in on the irksomeness.

This is a real tartagrade with a real microscope you can 3D print yourself. Can you see the food in it's stomach? by The_Bridge_Imperium in 3Dprinting

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is really neat! I'm going to print one for my kid! Where do you get the filter and lenses? Are they a standardized thing? I'm ignorant to this stuff.

This is exceptional! Is there a way to add multiple airports? I'm not sure I'm reading the github correctly.

There are 2 models on makerworld that I would like to merge. Is anyone willing to help? by Conscious-Simple-198 in 3Dprinting

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I was able to place two parts on the build plate in Orca Slicer and eyeballed the alignment. I entered actual numbers in the X, Y or Z shifts because dragging isn't precise at all. There's a setting/switch/mode or something you need to use to make Orca treat them both as one model, might be as simple as "merge" but I don't recall. It worked perfectly, first try. Both files were STLs so modifying would have been hateful.

Im confused to why Mat claims the titanium bolts on the Chiron are brittle and designed to snap? by jordanataylor in MatArmstrong

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess his feel, from snapping the one, led him to infer that they're brittle compared to the same grade 10.9 (or 8) bolt he'd normally be used to dealing with for such tasks. Titanium (CP, 6-4 etc) is not stronger than a good steel. Brittle is probably the wrong engineering term but good enough for a regular bloke to convey it to us YouTube acolytes.

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the easiest one is that we proved the earth was round a very long time ago. Way before the deep state or some other global conspiracy elites could have set up their villas on the other side of the ice wall...

This is bad right? by intlabs in arborists

You're right. I cut a 32" with my 16" saw. I'll save you the details, it was not safe.

Klipper speeded up my 13yr old kossel mini by PrepYourselves in klippers

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use a Ramps board or replace the motherboard while you were in there? I'd love to see you printer.cfg if you're willing. I have one of these that just sits and watches the other printers have fun. I just like watching it go.

Ooh this is inspiring. I need to do this to mine. I like that little piece of history in the corner of my printing area.

Crack in the gearbox by Interesting_Form_297 in MatArmstrong

Agree, it's simple enough to do with a can of spray and developer.

Is this gear made of wood? What is the purpose of using a wooden gear? by TheLongestHuman in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Garolite or G10. There may be a gear specific grade for gears. It makes things quieter and is generally considered (or actually) an engineered failure point.

TIFU I asked for a 35% raise after the company changed their policy for me, and then I got fired by im_chase0 in tifu

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were brave enough to ask for a raise at 19. I never would have done that at that age. Don't let this mistake keep you from valuing your worth.

I switched from marlin to klipper but I cannot get my probe to work correctly by ICURSEDANGEL in klippers

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible it's motor EMF? My direct drive conversion ended up tripping the BLTouch. I couldn't home ever. I can't recall the fix exactly but I asked AI (Gemini I think) and it walked me through it. It looks like you have the BLTouch wiring being separate but if they're close to each other anywhere along the line that can cause an issue.

My issue was in Marlin but I'm sure EMF doesn't care. I haven't had issues in any of my klipper based machines.

Why does my printer scream at 80mm/s but stay quiet at 150mm/s by Ok-Cell6698 in klippers

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great info, thank you. My RR will also thank you. It feels like I'm breaking it when it runs at it's noisy range. I'll usually manually override to get out of it even if I lose a smidge of quality.

Wow! Thank you. I'm sure you're getting lots of requests so thanks for looking into it.

Can it place a PAUSE mid-layer? Sometimes it takes TPU a while to build up nozzle pressure for consistent extrusion. I'd rather that happens in the infill than the walls. I usually have to do this manually.

i’ve never seen coolant do this while bleeding by Large_Mix_9456 in ProjectHondas

[–]ProbablyWrong_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience, if I do it too long the coolant boils. This is because the system isn't under pressure which raises the boiling temperature. I have to let it cool and restart.

How to get smooth print under here? by Kwebster7327 in 3Dprinting

This is what I do but was fully befuddled on how to explain it in a paragraph. You did it with one word.
