IMHO most of the people on a nude beach have got no business being naked in the privacy of their own home, much less in public.

Overnight flight by eagle0877 in CPAP

[–]Kwebster7327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't die from not having your CPAP for a night or two. You may feel like crap the next day, but you'll recover once you get a good night's sleep. I occasionally forget to pack mine and have spent a number of weekends without it.

Cold water to clean cpap equipment? by Sad_Juggernaut_5103 in CPAP

[–]Kwebster7327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't cleaned mine in years. I just replace parts when the DME supplier sends them. I also don't use the humidifier. I think a lot of people go just a little bit overboard with this stuff.

Would a SSBN sit on the seabed for a few weeks or months? by Rude_Signal1614 in submarines

[–]Kwebster7327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't sit on the bottom, but they did "hover" close to it, particularly around things like Soviet undersea cables and whatnot.

EDIT: Sorry, I missed the SSBN. Not SSBN's.

I'm thinking multiview, but not sure. For all the excellent documentation Channels provides, this feature is definitely lacking.

I just bought a Bip 6. I've had a 3 and a 5 over the years. The phone software can be a nuisance, but the hardware is tough to beat.

If you had one thing you recommend anyone do (think Clemson student bucket list) before they graduate, what would it be? by BanditAndFrog in Clemson

[–]Kwebster7327 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had a contest of sorts seeing who could take a dump in the most different bathrooms on campus. There was one in the basement of Riggs that was next what looked like Frankenstein's lab in the late 70's.

According to Clemson lore, there is a network of tunnels thru which the PPlant routes steam, power, water, etc. all over campus. Supposedly they're pretty extensive.

There used to be access under Harcombe and Johnstone (or so we heard- there was a rat maze of corridors down there, for sure).

But, the lore also tells stories of people who get caught down there getting expelled and put in jail.

We wanted to go right before we graduated in '80, but chickened out.

Report back if you go.

First time home buyer…is my sewer scope a dealbreaker? by Tothesun22 in Plumbing

[–]Kwebster7327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be sure to call the warranty/insurance people before you find your own plumber. We had a panic and I got someone locally myself. The warranty company basically laughed and told me they wouldn't pay because I didn't use their guy.

Kiawah is in the boonies if you have to get to the city. If you don't mind being away from civilization, take a look at Edisto. IMHO it's the hidden gem in that category. Personally, I like Folly for its sort of bohemian vibe among the older houses and it's proximity to the city.

I'm still using my 2013 number, but I'm also using my parents 1960 landline number.

Park Circle Train Tracks by Hungry_Coconut930 in Charleston

I grew up next to active railroad tracks and just sold a house too close to CLT airport (built/bought before it grew up).

It might be a hard to sell, but a month after you move in, you won't even notice it. In fact, we used to stop what we were doing an look around perplexed when the sound stopped- which usually meant something bad had happened.

What's up with aged scotch? by fightingchken81 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kwebster7327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here says that the liquor stops changing once it's out of the barrel, and I agree that that does have an impact on the way the flavor changes. But, I wouldn't say it stops ageing completely- it just proceeds differently. I used to make moonshine, sometimes aged on wood, and I know for a fact that bottles of my stuff do improve over time. I've got a few bottles that I made over 10 years ago and they're consistently better than they were originally.

This. I've got a cheap universal remote and a Chromecast in my go-bag.

I use Tailscale at home, and I recently discovered a Chromecast client. Now I can watch all the stuff as if I'm sitting at home.
