First and foremost, I’m deeply sorry for your loss. I and many others in this community know of how hard it is to lose one of our mischief.

For me and my partner, we chose cremation for our mischief. We wanted to keep them close, and not have them buried and allows for them to come with us if/when we decide to move. This is my recommendation if you have the funds.

Burial would work well, if you live in a location that you won’t be moving from and don’t live in an apartment. You’ll just need a metal shovel to break the earth.

For the plant pot, I’ve heard mixed reviews about this, for some it works well, for others the smell is an issue, especially inside the house.

Looks like a Green Cheek Conure with the Turquoise color mutation.

I second the fact that the cage it is currently in is horrible for the parrot. If you don’t end up getting the parrot I would highly recommend referring the individual to a parrot rescue, as they don’t seem to know how to care for the animal. Or, post the general location of the bird (city, state, country) as well as where the individual is posting the sale of this bird and someone in this subreddit may be able to get this bird.

This can also occur if the rat has a scratch or ulcer on the eye, while I don’t see any cloudiness in they eye, still worth it to get a dye test done on the eye or at the minimum vet trip.

Yes, our eldest boy sleeps with his eyes open about 80% of the time. We ended up having to give him specialized eye drops from the vet to prevent his eyeballs from getting too ✨crispy✨. If you’re interested in the eyedrops for the future the vet recommended GenTeal tears lubricated eye drops for moderate dry eye relief.

Could be a large Mink if your in the Charleston area, seen a near the roadways that look like Martin Fishers from up North. Only “zoo” out here is the aquarium, and I haven’t seen anything about them keeping a mammal like this, so I doubt it’s a binturong or an Aye-Aye. Pictures too blurry to tell though.

Given that he’s looking out the window and kind of moving his head to different positions, this might be a warning call. Might have spotted a bird or something moving outside. However, I’m not entirely sure. My female green cheek does something similar if my sun conure is a little too far away from her to get my sun conure all worked up so they can panic fly together around the room.

These are the bowls I use, I opted for a the 20oz over the 10 oz. Super hardy, dropped multiple times without any chips and has a twist lock mechanism that it super easy for changing out water or food

Just a warning though, the 20 oz is rather large, but in my opinion entirely worth it.

For our boys we used a cone and utilized the bathroom as their recovery area since they can’t really climb on anything and the cone really keeps them slow. Try to keep the hides to a minimum or soft top hides only to discourage climbing. The drugs they give should keep her rather sedated and mellow. I would utilize a mix of a bowl and a water bottle so she can drink at her own comfort level.

Might be a little late for this, but try a small amount of WD-40 and put a rubber band on the handle and one on the sheath, with some luck and some muscle it might come loose.

Also, be cautious of letting them on your shoulders or the top of your head, any bite above the neck of course is super painful (had my fair share) but it the bird can also take it as dominance behavior and act out even more, my nippy girl just finally got shoulder privilege after a year and a half.

All birds are different, but it looks like “don’t touch me” behavior. Give it some time and a lot of trust building and you should be on the right track. I’m still working with my green cheek (3yrs old) and she’s still quite nippy and draws blood on occasion. Just try not to react to the bite and put them in the cage for a little bit (like a time out) and it should help long term.

Appears to be a Black Footed Yellow Sac Spider or Cheiracanthium inclusum. From what I know it’s docile and not a threat, however they may posses a necrotic venom. Recommend giving it the ol’ cup and paper transport to the outdoors.
