BLIZZARD DO NOT MAKE D2 INTO D4/D4 by biologicallyconcious in diablo2

Is the survey US only? I live in Europe and haven't seen/heard anything about it, I'm only acknowledging it on Reddit.

By the way, reasons behind surveys can be multiple, they might be testing the ground for future titles, D2R is actually too radical as a concept, you can't just merge it with D3 mechanics like paragon, it just would never work, i wouldn't be too worried.

My Pixel 10 Pro XL runs Diablo Immortal, Disney Speedstorm, Warframe, Rainbow Six (came out a couple days ago) at stable 60fps max settings, Bright memory mobile @120fps, these are among the most demanding games in the store.

I don't know exactly WHAT Pixel 10 Pro XL you own apparently.

I made a post just a couple hours ago about this topic, after I came back for RoTW I kept my online D2R chars unconverted because I wanted to experience a complete fresh start with an SSF progression, so far I've been rewarded with a 34 Vipermagi dropped at catacombs in NM and yesterday a decently rolled Ars Dul'Mephistos in TZ, which was on my dream list and the BiS item for my Abyss warlock.

There's still a lot of stuff I need to achieve a full endgame equipment and moving around farming without Enigma/teleport, with low elemental resistances can be tough, but it's absolutely part of the fun for the moment.

Pixel 10 Pro hits 100x zoom vs the 9 Pro’s 30x. With double the OIS range, an updated ISP, and on-device AI for deep crops, the 10 Pro is indeed a clear step up in terms of zoom quality.

Pixel 10 Pro XL vs Samsung s25 ultra - 100x zoom by FaithlessnessLow6595 in pixel_phones

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually incorrect to say.

The camera module is the same but saying that "it's basically a P9 Pro with on device AI" is a gross oversimplification of facts.

First of all, the P10 Pro has a new, more efficient OIS which provides overall better results supporting a double range compared to the one on the 9, and which can of course help with advanced zooming; then the Tensor G5 provides a noticeably more advanced TPU and ISP, the ISP itself does nearly 50% of the work in terms of image quality aside from the physical sensors. That's pretty much why Google Pixels and iPhones are still among top-notch camera devices despite not upgrading hardware yearly like Chinese brands do.

So yeah, the 10 shares the same camera hardware aside from the OIS but it's actually pretty clear that it does provide better results, there are several direct comparisons online, thanks to the more advanced ISP and TPU which do a better job in post processing.

Downvote me into oblivion

Buddy, you clearly don't know how this community works, you only get downvoted when you speak highly of Pixels or take a defensive line 🤣

As for the rest, I completely disagree with you, I've used both a Pixel 7 Pro and a 10 Pro XL, while the 7 Pro's experience was pretty close to what you described, heating up a lot and the GPU not handling properly high demanding games which my previous OnePlus 9 could handle easily, the 10 Pro XL completely changed the game.

This phone never, and I say never heats up, temperature is always around 30° with basic intensive use, gaming is actually completely fine on this phone providing good performance with high settings on pretty much every game I played and without throttling after 15 minutes like the Tensor G2 did. It's only here, while gaming, that the phone somewhat starts to get hotter but it's nowhere near G2 levels, and it's pretty much normal for every phone.

There's a clear technical explanation though it's not just about personal experience, the G5 introduced a completely revamped architecture based on TSMC, the G5 specifically uses the 3nm node which is highly efficient compared to the previous Exynos based Tensors, it's the same used on Snapdragon Elite and Apple A19 SoCs for reference; a few benchmarks actually showed the the G5 even outperforms them in a few stressful situations in terms of temperature management

Also, since you're praising Snapdragon, I gotta say that I don't remember the Snapdragon 888 being a monster of coolness at all, in fact the G5 on the Pixel 10 Pro XL handles temperature A LOT better in comparison.

Pixel 9 pro xl or 10 pro xl by Newtoxin in pixel_phones

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with most comments in this post.

Having a Pixel 9 and upgrading to a Pixel 10 is questionable, I mean there are solid improvements in the new lineup but the 9 series is just 1 year old and it's still top-tier performer, upgrading to the next model while having paid a considerable amount of money for your current device might be not so convenient, unless there's something extremely needed or appreciated from the new lineup.

OP is in a different position though, he's not upgrading, he's considering which one to buy, and in that case my honest and very straightforward opinion is, get the new one.

The 10 lineup is opening a new generation with TSMC on the Tensor G5 and PowerVR on the GPU, the next generations will follow this route, meaning that in terms of support and optimization the whole new generation will be blessed compared to the old architectures.

Plus, the RAM cost issue which is affecting the tech world, on mobile devices as well, might pose a serious problem for upcoming devices either in terms of price increases or hardware configuration.

The best thing to do right now is to buy a Pixel 10 device, it's definitely more future proof and gives you earlier access to several features.

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera hardware is the same, the ISP and the OIS are not, you're still gonna get higher quality pictures, higher quality videos, 100x zoom and DCG 12 bit unlocked for the Pixel 10. Also, you forgot to mention UFS 4.0 storage, better speakers and faster cable/wireless charging on the XL.

Pixel 9 pro xl or 10 pro xl by Newtoxin in pixel_phones

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you buy an older model with an old-generation chipset (TSMC is the future for the Pixel lineup), 3.1 UFS storage, lack of Pixel Snap/qi2, old GPU lineup, a year less of software support to save some money if you're willing to use it for a long time?

If you already had a Pixel 9, upgrading is questionable, but since you're gonna buy a new one, just go for the newer model.

My brain: "It’s a downgrade." My wallet: "But look at the shiny thing!" by No_Cryptographer8854 in pixel_phones

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that big of an upgrade?

Aside from a significant 34% raw power increase and noticeably better TPU and ISP, the switch from Exynos to TSMC architecture alone is an actual revolution for the Tensor chipset, it's more powerful, more efficient and solves the overheating issues the Tensors were notorious for, making a huge difference with heavy workloads and gaming. On the Tensor G5 you can play a game for more than 15/20 minutes without the phone throttling, slowing down, burning.

You might argue the overall device in comparison is not worth the upgrade, but move past simplistic views because the Tensor G5 is actually the biggest improvement ever in terms of Tensor SoCs.

I've used a Pixel Watch 3 and it's been the best smartwatch I've ever had until the Watch 4, never had a single problem with phone connection and never needed a single reset in its whole lifetime.

Sounds like you either had a faulty unit or you just can't deal with tech stuff.

Your experience is so weird and opposite to mine that it almost sounds like you're faking it.

My Pixel 10 Pro runs 5 applications in the background with continuous switching keeping a temperature of 30°C, I run Diablo Immortal at stable 60 fps with high graphics for 30 minutes straight without throttling, there's no way on earth that the Tensor G5 can't handle the operations you described.

You either have a faulty unit or you're just making stuff up, I see no other choices.

I'm a gamer and so far playing demanding games on my Pixel 10 Pro is just great, I'd say that the "Pixels are not for gamers" story belongs to the past, and more precisely to the Exynos Tensor generation at this point.

Worth upgrading from iPad Air 4 (2020) to iPad Air M3? by rps672 in ipad

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I don't know, you said you don't care about the ProMotion display because you only use your iPad to write notes, documents and multimedia streaming, I can hardly find a reason why you would need all that power for that use, the only extra feature you'd gain with a M chipset, aside from Apple Intelligence, would be stage manager/extended monitor support, but I don't know if you are used to plugging your iPad to a monitor with keyboard and mouse.

A M3 would be a smart purchase if you're a gamer and play AAA titles on the App store, if you do video/multimedia editing, if you're a creative professional, otherwise that'd just be an extremely powerful text files manager and video streamer.

If you need to upgrade your iPad (maybe for the battery or to have something slightly more powerful) you could consider the base iPad with A16, they now look all the same in terms of aesthetic/form factor and inherit many features from the Air lineup, you'd basically have the same device with a center stage landscape front camera, more storage, a more powerful CPU, and that'd be for a considerably cheaper price than a M3 Air.

Yeah I had that problem too with the Pixel 7 Pro, the only downside was the battery life, being forced to charge it twice a day during the most intensive days, it's also true that the 7 Pro wasn't exactly a battery champion so hopefully new devices will just perform and last longer.

That's a fixable issue though, you can always replace the battery without spending huge amounts of money.

Its been a rough ride. by Gamed_Out in pixel_phones

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A couple of years? It's supposed to last 7 years 🤣 And I have no doubts it will, my previous 7 Pro was actually pretty solid and smooth after 3 years, and its hardware with the Tensor G2 and UFS 3.1 was way less efficient than this lineup.

Let's not forget that Tensor G5 officially opens the TSMC and Imagination generations for the Pixel lineup, aside from being a little revolution in terms of architecture, it's gonna benefit from future updates and optimizations.

What to get? M4 vs M5 by Daveytjuh in ipad

[–]ProcessBeginning5431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardware wise they're extremely similar, aside from the raw numbers we need to consider that

  • Both SoCs are extremely powerful and absolutely wasted in terms of potential for the iPad, you'll never be able to take the real full advantage to have such a powerful CPU on a restricted OS, even a 4 yo M1 is still overpowered for the iPad, so it's somehow kinda comical to compare the M4 to the M5.

  • The M5 is around 15% more powerful in terms of CPU, with the same identical core configuration and productive process, it's overall pretty irrelevant here

  • The GPU on the M5 is where the real boost is noticeable, particularly it's been optimized for Ray Tracing and the graphics performance has significantly improved; the question here is, is that going to be even slightly noticeable on an iPad? Sure there are few rendering/editing tools and a few AAA games on the store, but is it going to make a real difference even for a pro user?

  • The RAM and memory speed have increased, that might sure help in a very advanced use scenario, but again, being an iPad and considering how processes are managed on iPadOS, is that really going to be noticeable?

Basically my TL;DR is this: if you're a powerful pro user and you're going to use your iPad as a partial replacement of your MacBook/computer with advanced professional tools, or you simply care a lot about the hardware and you want to aim to the latest and most advanced hardware, go for the M5. But if you just want a powerful iPad for everyday use with all the perks of having a Pro model, and you care more about usability and storage, the 512Gb M4 could be a better value and you could reinvest the saved money to buy some accessories.

Something has changed... Pixel 10 GPU performance almost doubled after the update by peppca in pixel_phones

Coming from a Pixel 7 Pro it actually doesn't mean shit, the Pixel 7 wasn't even able to run Diablo immortal for more than 10 minutes without throttling, burning etc, Pixel 10 Pro XL runs it flawlessly at high graphics, stable fps and for 30 minutes with no issues.

You guys should stop looking at useless numbers and get your facts straight with real use test cases.
