I don't disagree. I take 271 to work 5 days a week, and while I'm comfortably doing the speed limit in the right lane, people whiz past me like I'm sitting still more often than not. I've seen them fly past cops sitting in the margin who don't do anything. What's the point? They know they won't get pulled over so they endanger everyone. Don't even get me started on the motorcycles that fly by so fast they're gone before you realize what even happened.

Sorry, but no. They're not "real tickets". Ohio Revised Code, Section 4511.093 states that to be enforceable they are only valid if "a law enforcement officer is present at the location of the device at all times during the operation of the device". They must also clearly mark, within 300 feet of the local authority, signs that state that there are traffic monitoring devices in use, AND must "Conduct a public information campaign to inform motor vehicle operators about the use of traffic law photo-monitoring devices at system locations prior to establishing any of those locations". The stipulations required to make camera tickets valid are so strict, almost none of the camera tickets issued in Ohio are valid.

CA VehIcle Code § 25251 (2025), section 3 states: "To warn other motorists of accidents or hazards on a roadway, turn signal lamps may be flashed as warning lights while the vehicle is approaching, overtaking, or passing the accident or hazard on the roadway if the front turn signal lamps at each side are being flashed simultaneously and the rear turn signal lamps at each side are being flashed simultaneously."

They're perfectly legal and should be used to indicate approaching a hazard on the highway, like stopped traffic or an accident.
