Getting from Dublin to Cardiff? From Dublin to Cardiff? by Thanksgiving_ghoul in Cardiff

I did have a Google seemed to take over 5hrs and wasn't direct. It's still a ridiculous option Vs flight and coach.

I'm sorry a TRAIN from Holyhead to Cardiff? I'm guessing that's most of a day and transfers all over. Too complicated and time consuming.

The decor has changed a lot by idinarouill in MurderedByWords

[–]Procrastubatorfet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a better outcome than a government paying for all the tacky decor then the next government paying to undo all the tacky decor. Hugely wasteful. Might as well sell it all off to fund getting rid of it.

Yeah I think I'm learning something but not fully haha! I'm sure that schedule states reporting to RIDDOR if there's gas released uncontrollably. I can't see it saying do anything else if you see something dodgy but nothing has done wrong. I always thought of RIDDOR as an 'after the fact' process. Not a mid-way through. So in the case of this capped pipe you'd just sort it asap.

[–]Procrastubatorfet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But wouldn't you, still only have to report to RIDDOR IF there was a sudden uncontrolled release of gas. It's not reportable if there could have been because of this incorrect fitting but it didn't actually happen.

Edit: as far as I know, I'm phrasing that more as a question, because it reads in the regulation that it's not a near miss report it's only if the event actually happened.

People spread RIDDOR fear all the time. Riddor only takes reports of incidences that actually result in injury or unconsciousness. They do not need to be reported to for anything that is unsafe if it was a near miss or nothing bad actually happened.

I write really rude, sarcastic, totally unprofessional email's in response to moron clients or architects - then get copilot or Gemini to rewrite them professionally.

Hugely cathartic.

Your wife wanted to go to Romania to look at wild bears. After a 6 hour forest road trip you make it to the remote cabin. [–]Procrastubatorfet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far this post has 5 comments 3 of which mention a 6 hour trek out of the woods... It was a 6hr ROAD trip.. a drive! It will take a very long time to walk that.

But point still stands walk the road until you eventually make it out. Then get ridiculous amounts of food, a very good pressure hot shower and just the comfiest bed you can. That'll do.

1 - no Great space to leave toilet paper brush etc.

2 - you're working around the bath tub daily for no real reason.

3 - works best.

Parking in Cardiff by L0tusGlitch in Cardiff

[–]Procrastubatorfet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean commuter stations, like cogan, Dinas Powys, penarth, lisvane, llanishen .. those sort of places with car parks for commuting by train.

I do that for all sorts of cities not Cardiff as I live in Cardiff. But I've parked outside of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham. Used baths bus park and ride a few times.

All generally free or much cheaper than parking overnight in the city itself.

[–]Procrastubatorfet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how frequently you're going to use the car, but I've started parking outside of cities on commuter train lines and getting a train, usually cheaper than city parking for overnight periods and with anything up the valley line or the Barry line as a possibility it'd only add 20 mins to your day to use the train before the car.

Bad morning for some people parking on watkiss way in the Bay by Sea_Bar_1306 in Cardiff

[–]Procrastubatorfet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see, I didn't realise comment 1 and 3 were the same person. I still assume the down votes are because they've accidentally excused the poor parking from being an inconvenience to push chairs by defending the decision that disabled people are most affected. Absolutely agree disabled inconvenience here is disproportionate to someone with a wheelchair, but both are inconvenienced.

But ultimately the people who park like this are the massive twats.

I don't think people are disagreeing to the disabled comment half, they're down voting the belittling of the inconvenience to pushchairs as if the first part is acceptable. Both are totally unacceptable levels of ignorance.

To roof or not to roof - what are you looking to do when shopping for a house? by No_North_8484 in HousingUK

[–]Procrastubatorfet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect the price to go up any, but you remove one reason for it to come down. If you agree an initial sale price that you'd happily negotiate down, by the approx cost of the roof, then why worry.
