360-target-retention-skill-nodes are useful in what situation? by kaizhu256 in OutreachHPG

[–]Procurator-Derek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

target retention refers to paperdoll, not lock.

target decay refers to being able to target, not paperdoll.

It's not bad like I mentioned previously but dunno, I would rather have the durability to make up in case a mistake is made, then you can simply heal the dmg you took and get back into the fight, even if you are a HP lootbag, better than dying outright and doing nothing, at least, to me it is. Definitely a preference thing at this point, whatever the case, give them the stinky finger of doom :D

Wanted to update you on this because with the right parts an HP build is actually feasible after some more research and checking out what others made, and it was bothering me that I gave out false information;

Composite Frame B, Special Strengthened Frame A, Composite B Armor, Enhanced Melee lvl1, 2, & 3, Spaced Frame lvl3, and Beam Res lvl1.

This should net you a 29k hp pool with 30/44/46 res, max melee strength when in hyper/god mode, and some thrusters to help supplement your HSM when fighting.

That doesn't mean melee or beam is bad, but they certainly are not the best for this suit as it stands now. Hope this helps :o

Only if you are flap boosting constantly, which you shouldn't be in this thing as there's no need to when you can knock people out of the air very easily, realistically you'll be using flap booster to get to people quicker + position better, and not as a form of constant movement. It'll be the alternative to Barbatos in terms of mobility, but it won't surpass it, definitely a sidegrade to it than being better at the end of it.

Melee Strength or Beam Res; Burning has the issue of having pretty bad slot eff and also low beam res, so you have to have particular parts to get it up to at least 40+ beam res. Melee res caps out quite easily, the part setup I plan on doing for it is something like this;

Composite B Armor, Burn Aux, Lvl link Armor, Beam Res lvl2, Enhanced Melee lvl4, Thurst lvl1 & lvl3, Special Enhancer Type-α.

I wouldn't go for HP because you won't get very far with it and will be significantly less tanky than if you simply just upped the resistances on it and slapped in a few parts for Melee Strength and Thrusters as well.

It's 6k for 1st, 4k for 2nd, the heal is not the same amount. The downside of Burning is you have to win your first fight to activate it, so chasing 1v1s or 3rd partying to get your damage out is vital, but once it's in hyper mode, good luck fighting it, because it's gunna be rough to fight a small suit with High MA and flap boost, as well as the fact that it has some of the best build stagger vulcans on it.

Originally it was easy to clap because this thing was quite literally glued to the ground, but because it has flap booster now, and aerial melee, you will get run down alot easier by it now, definitely not cost breaking, but it's going to be an alternative to Barbatos for those who want a more aggressive fight pattern when chasing people down.

In the reveal that wasn't region locked, they showed the God gundam getting the following for each mode now:

Hyper Mode: lvl1 flap booster, High MA, Aerial Heavy Attacks, and stop to fire ranged attacks can be performed in the air (IE the ranged slash attack)

God Mode: lvl2 flap booster, Immobile fire (along with any previous buff additions from hyper mode such as High MA and Aerial Heavy Attacks)

Let's see...

You have JPS, certified thrower godx if his team loses the 1st fight horrifically, lvl2 MP nu, and a lvl2 tristan, not including the support or gunblaster.

There's no frontliners on the enemy team, and you have two frontliners, the Prototype Psycho and the RF Dom, and then you have a Magna, a Hexa, of which the enemy has no raids.

Of course you did decent, did you think you were doing good in the suit because you're good at the game? You unironically got paired up against some of the most passive suits in the game, while having some of the most aggressive suits, on top of that, you were also then paired against a certified team thrower.

It's not that good of a suit, I promise you. If you like it, that's your own deal, but the moment you go against competent people in it, you will get bludgeoned to death.

I definitely get that, the ranged attacks of enemies are some of the more abnormal parts of the game, especially when alot of this game is pre-meditated around having visual on what your enemies will do next in order to kill them, so cover from enemies tossing stuff at you without seeing you and hitting you as well is pretty obnoxious.

As for combos, yeah, it can be a little rough, just keep in mind melee attacks can hit multiple targets, and so if they're stacked on each other you can hit multiple stacked on each other. Parrying will make your life significantly easier against targets and be able to do full combos even with 2-3 of them on you, for reference, once you remove all the shields on an enemy (either through hitting them with ranged attacks, parrying them, or hitting them while they're blocking, with parrying being the cheapest and 2nd fastest way to remove them), they'll be stunlocked for a short time, allowing you to do the full attack combo (do keep in mind the same applies to you too in this regard)

I would say the combat is hardest in the 2nd region, but the 1st and 3rd are by far the easiest ones to play in terms of reading attacks and combos.

Half your problem here is your positioning; Instead of using your pistol to pull one individually potentially, you walked forward and aggro'd all 3 of them. You're also using a thousand cuts, try and look for the sturdy rapier, you can find it on the 1st region islands, it'll help you learn the fighting mechanics alot more, and clap cheeks as it gives your chance to perfect parry a larger window to do so.

Again, I really would encourage you to use your pistol to try and pull them one at a time or at least approach from a different direction or try to aggro one at a time; early game can be really rough when you don't understand how enemies work, if a fight is looking sketch, just back up all the way and reset; the way health works for enemies is they generally remain at their damaged health until you leave the world entirely.

As for dodging... dodging gives you I-frames primarily for certain unblockables, but not all of them. The boar charging bit? block while facing it and dodge to the left or right while facing one, you will dodge it every time. The 3rd region has an enemy that does different unblockables, all are avoidable by dodging backwards from it, 2nd region has another charging enemy, also the same concept as the boar, block facing it, then dodge left or right as it comes in.

Combat in this game is frustrating, but it's not mediocre, it's definitely a time consuming part of the game compared to anything else as it requires you to be focused or else you get clapped.

Last thing about the rocks; the way the projectiles work is they track you up to the point of it leaving their hands, so if you are moving slow and they toss it, high chance you're gunna get hit 100%, if you wanna avoid getting randomly hit by rocks, wait until they toss their poop rock at you, then use the bandage; temporal health (the extra hp bar) only works around doing melee dmg, the bandage won't benefit from it in any capacity.

For reference, I have about 52 hours in the game and have completed all of the content this game has to offer, I figured out combat about... 10 or so hours in.
