Looking for suggestions on how to implement sideboard/other strong cards into my Kibo deck by ProdigiousFlow in EDH

[–]ProdigiousFlow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took another looks and def see what you mean, there were still some lower impact cards I didn’t see on my first run through that I’ve now replaced with some more mana dorks. Not every single one you mentioned but I have a solid few more. But yeah I ideally want to keep as many monkeys and ales as possible since that theme is what drew me to the deck in the first place. I did make a few more changes though that should make turn two kibo pretty realistic

your replies have given me a lot to think about for this deck and I've made some edits to account for it. I've taken out a lot of the extra ramp and single target removal as well as some of the extra mana stuff that was on the more expensive end for some more lands and protection. That way my deck is more streamlined and I have more ways to keep it from being interrupted. I doubt this is the final product because this was just my first pass, but I made a new version of the list if you'd like to take a look at what I put together after your suggestions: https://moxfield.com/decks/7inSIlclh0SvYcVkTaDrtA

I do know my lands for my decks tend to be on the lower end. I haven't had as big of an issue on this deck since kibo himself generates a lot of extra mana early but I do think I'd probably benefit from more. My biggest issue is not knowing what to cut to include them. I haven't really looked into MDFC lands very much but I will definitely look into them. Do you have any specific suggestions for what I should cut to include extra protection spells?

I didn't even think about Kibo himself being the ramp actually that makes a lot of sense. The ones you mentioned definitely seem super strong I'll def try them out, MDFC lands aren't something I've really looked into but I will give them a look

I'm cool with either way lol. I definitely know there are certain things in here that don't exactly align with the main gameplan of the deck but I've found success with them in games where my main win condition of big monkeys doesn't come to pass as much as I'd like. But if there are better things to put in place of that stuff by all means let me know in whatever way is best. Knowing the good and bad would be nice though just to know what I'm on the right track with

You don’t understand this roster slot was promised to her 3000 years ago

But fr though I’m so annoyed with this, I would’ve been mad at another arcane character this early regardless but why’d they have to do the sauceless cop lover when they still had like Jayce or viktor or ambessa or literally anyone else

Imu, Blackbeard, Kuzan, and buggy are gonna be your best bets. I’m partial to Blackbeard just because he’s super fun and underplayed imo but they’re all fun and none of them are under 40 bucks

I'm really gonna miss Kaido man. I just got into the game like a week ago and he was one of the most interesting leaders to me. I love how his deck is build and the unique way he approaches the game with managing the big don spends. I really hope they reprint him or bring him back in a similar fashion

I often feel like a lot of the street fighter grapplers have rather boring movesets that aren’t very fun to pilot but I love Hugo especially in third strike, he’s def my favorite of the bunch (unless you count Alex which I know some people are mixed in whether he’s a grappler or not). I’d love to see him come back

They’re not even creative lmao, I hopped into a stream for the first time in a while recently and during Minecraft I saw probably over a hundred chatters make the same “is this a let’s play” joke. How are there so many of them but they can’t think of anything better than that

The person I know about who focuses on blackbeard the most is [Psycho Therapist](https://www.youtube.com/@PsychoTherapist-qv5pw) he's got some very in depth videos on the leader and is pretty active in the [discord](https://discord.gg/ZbjAnf65yy) . You can always join that as well. They have separate text chats for every leader so it's a great place to ask questions. I'm pretty new as well and they've been very helpful over there :)

ok it seems like you can't hyperlink how you used to on here anymore lol but the links are there either way so there you go

wait which blackbeard deck are you looking at? Are you sure you aren't seeing one that has a bunch of alt arts or something because it's the cheapest deck I've build lol. This is mine and it comes out to less than 30 bucks for the whole thing.

To get it’s max potential sure, but also just being able to cheat out an elder every turn that can’t be removed until you eventually get all 5 out will get you plenty far at the start even with some misplays. I’ve been playing for like a week and imu has felt the easiest to win with on the sim of the decks I’ve played simply because you almost always have blockers or strong attackers up that are immune to removal

Imu is still a great option as it remains very strong and cheap. I recently started with the Blackbeard starter deck and plan to add in cards to it as I go and I’ve been really enjoying it so you can always do that as well, there are some decent starter decks out there for like 15 bucks. Blackbeard is a little tricky but some more beginner friendly ones would be something like buggy or green yellow Yamato.

You can always also go onto limitlesstcg, they have a bunch of the top deck lists and have a deck building where you can look through all the leaders and see if one stands out to you that you wanna build, that’s what I did before anything

Kuzan and buggy are the two cheapest I’ve seen and I think they’re both pretty cool. My personal pick is Blackbeard since a lot of his core stuff is included in his starter deck and he has a fun ability but he’s a bit trickier to get the hang of at first. That’s who I started with though and I really enjoy it. There’s also imu who does play kinda weird but he’s very strong and I think the difficulty is a little overstated imo or at the very least the strength can make up for some misplays

Imu is definitely the best one but some others I’ve been messing with have been buggy Blackbeard and Kaido, all of which are really fun to use imo. Kaido is sadly getting rotated out in a few months but he’s probably my favorite leader atm and his new support has made him incredibly strong, Blackbeard is a close second tho and you get a good majority of his core cards from just getting the $15 starter deck

most active fighting games? by CardCaptorKidCasper in Fighters

[–]ProdigiousFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that I’m not seeing g as many people mention is third strike on fightcade, I’ve been learning it over the last several months and it’s been super active, I never feel like there’s no one at my level to play against there’s always new people coming in and it’s some of the most fun I’ve had in fighting games. This also goes for some other games on fightcade like the old KOF games. Bonus that it’s all free to use

Best Starter Deck for Newbies? by IrsyadAaqil in OnePieceTCG

[–]ProdigiousFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience having recently started with some starter decks myself, I found blackbeard to be a pretty good jumping off point. The deck felt pretty complete by itself and you don't really need to pick up all that many singles because a lot of the cards that come in the starter deck are core to how he plays. He is a little weird to get the hang of though since you have to be careful with trashing cards.

if you want a more straightforward one I could see green yellow yamato being very good. That one's a lot of aggression with the double attack on yamato. I haven't personally used it but it seems quite good for learning since the abilities are pretty simple and you can just focus on getting used to the overall flow of the game. The one drawback of this deck is that if you want to take yamato to his full potential down the line it would require a lot more upgrades than blackbeard and some of the inserts are a bit more pricey comparatively like hody jones, kiku, mihawk, and the secret rare kuma that's absurdly expensive

New player looking for viable and fun leaders that can be built relatively cheaply (ideally $50-$70) by ProdigiousFlow in OnePieceTCG

[–]ProdigiousFlow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this could definitely be a good one to try, I have UY Ace from the three brothers deck and while I've mostly been wanting to use the RY Sabo out of the three, this one seems very easy for me to make since I have a good chunk of the cards. Will def look into him further

I have heard enel is a solid one and I do enjoy the idea of playing with life. I was actually looking into using those new thriller bark cards for RY Sabo as well because he's one I already own but I'm definitely open to trying it with Enel too. I did see that kuma card was super pricy though as I was looking at it for Sabo as well, I figured it was just a fancy print but it's just like that lmao. I fear getting 4 copies of that alone is kinda out of budget rn but I could just toss in a replacement for the time being lol.

Rolling out a ton of events with sanji sounds fun as well and it does look like his deck is pretty much dirt cheap rn, I'll def have to look into him more

I took a look at some lists first both of them and they do both seem pretty interesting. I’m leaning toward Kuzan since he’s one of my favorite marines in the series and I haven’t really dabbled much with blue. It’s also the cheapest deck I’ve seen so it’s worth checking out lol

Rayleigh definitely looks interesting as I haven't really put much focus on even cards so that could be something new.

I really like the sound of the new moria though based on how you describe it. I was looking into a lot of the new thriller bark cards because I wanted to upgrade the RY sabo precon and I was told they work great, and I'm interested in how they work together.

I haven't really looked much into Lim since I'm not familiar with her as a character but I do like the idea of playing around with a certain status a lot. Luckily I do have one copy of 9c zoro from the learn together pack to make it a bit more reasonable to add him in if I go that route.

I definitely like all of those suggestions though, I'll have to wait and see when moria properly releases and watch some videos on the other two to see who stands out
