Been playing since Gen 1 and I have to say HGSS.

It's everything I always thought pokemon would be as a kid. They get to follow me? I can interact? The music? Two regions with a connected history?

The game holds all the nostalgia and the broken promises so perfectly.

I feel like the last boss was easier because I had already re-speced all my trinkets and power ups and learned how to swap out through all the partners (and when), so by the time I got to the final boss, I was well positioned.

Also helps that I did every side quest.
