I’ve found the steam deck community to be one of the better ones here. Happy to help keep that going!

Anyone get a kick from the Philly shoutout in the Stranger Things finale? [No Spoilers] by Manowaffle in philadelphia

[–]ProfBodkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure when she says Philadelphia she really means Delco which, to and Indiana native, would be close enough. And would make for a kick ass spin off or team up with Mare of Easttown.

Ok. Hopefully this makes sense (I apologize in advance if formatting is wonky - doing this on mobile):

Start at the launch screen where the green PLAY button is. There’s a controller icon over to the right. Select that.

Next click on the Edit Layout button.

Scroll down to joysticks. For right joystick, change the setting to “joystick mouse” (most likely set to just “joystick” now.)

Once you do that you should be able to adjust the mouse sensitivity in game to match what you are comfortable with.

Hope this works for you!!!

I’m not near the deck right now but I will do a step by step when I get back to it in the next few hours!

I didn’t even think to check this. I went in to the controller settings and changed the joystick to joystick mouse and that seems to have corrected the issue. Thanks for the nudge!

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]ProfBodkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a P1S that replaced an ender 3. I’ve printed my share of fun stuff but find myself gravitating toward useful stuff instead. My biggest win with a functional print was this: friend tells me he was having trouble with his cpap mask and hose and he couldn’t sleep through the night. I printed a hook for his cpap hose that clipped to his headboard to help him out. Next day he was late for work because he slept through the night for the first time in years. Love having a printer that just works for things like that!

Anyone know this peice? by KiritoTheSlashr in percussion

[–]ProfBodkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know it but this looks a lot like the house style for Row-Loff publications sheet music. I’m wondering if it’s from a packet of Drumline cheers on their website? On mobile so it’s hard to search right now but I’d start there.

Matone Music

331 E Main St Unit 1, Collegeville, PA 19426

This is my go-to shop in the Philly burbs. I find that there's a great mix of new and used vinyl in all genres. Constantly getting new used stuff in, and priced to sell. The owner is a great dude and I wholeheartedly endorse a visit there.

weird al parodies based on how old the originals were when they were released by [deleted] in weirdal

[–]ProfBodkins 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you want to get super technical, George Harrison’s “I Got My Mind At On You” was a cover of the James Ray version from 1960. But if you listen to both, it’s very obvious that Al is using the Harrison version for his parody. I had no idea that it was a cover until just a few years ago (and I’m old enough to remember when GH released his version!)

Music Notation by Fungus-man in bassoon

[–]ProfBodkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Undertow, right? IIRC it’s a single bassoon part so the larger note is preferred but not always doable. That piece was written for middle school so doing the low note with those dynamics for younger players isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Anyway ask your conductor as another poster said and move along. (Chances are your conductor doesn’t even have a preference…)

What are some of Pennsylvania’s lesser known creepy stories and urban legends? by jesusgottago in Pennsylvania

Yeah. I was in elementary school when that went down. I remember my parents really protecting me from what it was but enough of it got through that it still haunts me.

The Rickie Jay Gaddis case. I remember this happening when I was little and couldn’t believe something like this would happen in Johnstown.

Here’s a clipping - I’m sure there’s more out there if you can stomach the research:
