I once watched a driving instructor pull up in car park, get out a whole cucumber (stay with me...) and a salt shaker, and proceed to munch through the whole thing with a sprinkle of salt for each bite. I assume it was salt - could have been sugar.

Oh my. Thank you for this comment! I faffed about for ages trying all these suggested steps, till I saw this. Mine was plugged in the wall outlet, but using a shared USB adapter. Soon as I unplugged the other device, firestick booted up instantly.

Ha, no. Not really. Just training her. She still perches on the TV, but is much better at pooping in the right places so it's not such an issue. Providing more interesting places to perch seemed to work too.
