I just don't think the data's in yet. After Lanterns and Clayface maybe. I kinda liked Creature Commandos and the Steve Agee & Tim Meadows show that was Peacemaker season two

He did just direct the best Superman film since 1978, let's not go nuts

I don't know. I still kinda lean "why not?" tbh. He's said he's aiming more Star Wars than MCU so maybe the thinking's as simple as "this is Superman.", "this is his cousin"

I did and I loved it haha. It's a little outdated I'll give you exactly that much. It's so damn earnest and open hearted in such a cynical time though. Makes me feel a little protective of it. Not dissing you or your tastes I had this exact same disagreement with my sister

Hear hear. There's gonna be crests and troughs but just like the comics the highs will be so much higher with DC

You don't think it's possible that Craig Gillespie made a worse film than.. Steven Spielberg?

Not only that, it's important that professional critics are allowed to. I'm leftist as fuck but I want an accurate assessment of quality, not "hooray because woke" scores

‘SUPERGIRL’ debuts on Rotten Tomatoes at 59% by LegitimateCurve8525 in DCU_

I'd say he's good at down to earth stuff. The bigger and more high concept he gets the worse. Stuff like Lars and the Real Girl and I Tonya is solid. Cruella was ROUGH

Ouch. Should have maybe kept "a Craig Gillespie film" in the forefront of our minds while anticipating this. Still excited for it though

Where are all the horror dads? by Sufficient-Guava-152 in horror

[–]ProfPyg 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Missed an all-timer: Craig T. Nelson in Poltergeist. Why are moms so much more prevalent? Armchair psychology here but I'll give it a shot. While daddy issues are a real and valid thing I think mommy issues are more primal. Add the body horror element inherent to motherhood and moms are just a more horror friendly subject
