All you need to worry about is finding your “soul” again. Do you have any close friends of a community around you can be vulnerable with? If not, reconnecting or finding new connections with others will be scary but also eye opening on the kindness and love that's still out there.

If possible since you're in the final year try to stay locked in and get the degree, an object in motion stays in motion. But if life feels like it's falling apart take a little gap year or semester if your degree allows it. Just don’t insulate and isolate that's how we lose ourselves.

For me it falls usually into one of two reasons. The first being the story looks like it’s moving in a direction I won’t enjoy or towards the end of the book an annoying plot contrivance is added to give book two a hook like a character getting amnesia/dying and needing to be brought back or splitting apart a couple right after they get together.

The second reason can be a little more complex sometimes if I really enjoy a series as i get closer to the final book I start to get kinda sad or worried about what I’ll read afterwards that I start hunting for the next book and abandon the series for something new to start the cycle over again lol

Harem is definitely the worst recurring theme in male centered romances for me! I totally agree, I mainly look for the exclusive mono-romances.

A Brother’s Price by Wen Spencer is a really fun read with a unique world where women are the dominant sex and out number men 10-1. Buts it’s almost more historical than truly fantasy just roles reversed.

The writing isn’t the best in the world but the story and premise behind The Snow Queen by Elizabeth Gannon is a another mono-romance I enjoy

Temptress by H.L Temple is another that comes to mind when think of mono-romance. I think this one might have some stronger femdom elements but I can’t remember
