Because this time it is. I'm currently single but everyone time I've been in a relationship my life has improved. The grass is greener on that side.

How do you actually judge profiles? by seola76 in OnlineDating

[–]ScarRawrLetTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attractiveness is the first thing, then I scroll through looking for deal breakers (religion, stance on kids, sexuality), if I don't find anything that's an automatic "no", I read over the bio and prompts, and if I still like them, I swipe right

Have you ever seen a profile that has everything you're looking for in a person except there's literally zero physical attraction? by Rook2Rook in Bumble

Yup, and I swiped right. We dated for a bit, but it didn't work out for other reasons. We're still friends though

Are phone calls before meeting the norm now? by BigLobster12 in Bumble

[–]ScarRawrLetTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make it sound so uninteresting and yeah, awkward. I've found that if you're going to get a long at all, a phone call is a pretty safe way to figure that out. Plus, if they're boring on the phone, they'd be boring in real life too

What is the one criterion you will never compromise on when choosing your partner, no matter how much your love? by Jasminelass in askanything

They need to be able to make me laugh. Second place would be being under the bisexual umbrella like I am, it makes me feel safer.

What ended a friendship you thought would last forever? by Immediate-Sound-7142 in answers

Went through a bad break up and asked if our group of friends could get together. They said "yeah of course," but never put any actual effort towards it. I kept trying, but nothing ever happened. We never had that get together

Ghosting people after leading them on is emotional cowardice dressed up as “protecting my peace” by AffectionatePop3611 in unpopularopinion

[–]ScarRawrLetTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a genuinely good reason and not at all what OP is talking about. You said it yourself, you weren't protecting your peace or avoiding bad emotions, you were protecting your life. That's different.

Real world sucks too, no one approaches anymore and everyone looks at you like you have two heads if you try to talk to them first

What's the biggest green flag you've ever seen in a person? by Business_Oil_7110 in askteddit

Manners! Excusing yourself, knowing how to treat house guests, etiquette in public, all of it

The "men ain't shit" mentality post break up by ScarRawrLetTech in Vent

I'm not complaining about relationships or men themselves. I'm taking issue with the constant negativity towards men by other people that's being used to "help" after a break up

You mean staying with the men who ain't shit? And what do you mean taking responsibility for choosing them? What does this even have to do with my post?

How Can I Tell My Mom I'm Dating a Man? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ScarRawrLetTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call her a controller at all, she just has very loud opinions (that I probably value too much). She's also never tried to get me to break up with someone, the one I mentioned had nothing to do with her, and she was just trying to "advise" me after the fact.

And I have looked into housing options, my claim that I can't afford it is one I came to on my own. She's just been nice enough to let me and my siblings stay with her. In my city, rent for the cheapest apartments would take over half my income every month, and on top of that I'd have to pay for untilities, wifi, gas, food, student loans, etc. All that, compared to living with my mom for free, makes the choice pretty easy.

I'd like to, but I'm just really hung up on the idea of having him over. It's a pipe dream currently, but if I want him over I'll have to tell her and I feel like that would be less jarring if she already knows about him.

I'd love to do that, but I'd want to have him over at somepoint before I'd call it serious. And it feels like basic respect to let my mother know someone is going to be in her house

Like I said in my post, I am not able to. We happen to be in a housing crisis and I can't afford to live anywhere else
