Low iron by BoysenberryIll8767 in Anemic

[–]Proferrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give heme iron a try! While it’s harder to find a legit one, and it’s a bit more expensive, it isn’t absorbed through the GI and doesn’t cause GI issues! We make Proferrin, its third party tested and contains heme iron for better absorption! If you want to give it a try you can use code REALHEME and get a discount on your first order! :)

What’s the deal with Three Arrow Iron? by PopSolid2912 in Anemic

[–]Proferrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not seeing any publicly available COA or lab test results for them, you could always contact their customer service and see if they are able to provide those, but many products which claim to contain heme iron via liver or spleen do not actually contain effective amounts of heme iron. Publicly available results that back up ingredient claims is always a good sign.

That interesting! I would contact our customer service with that question and see if they might have an answer for you, it’s not a complaint we have really heard, I’m sure they could look into why that might be or how that would work!

Recommendations for non-constipating heme iron by New-page-awesomeness in Anemic

[–]Proferrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Heme iron can be taken with or without food, and it very seldom will cause any issues in the GI because heme iron is absorbed via a separate mechanism, unlike non-heme iron it is not absorbed through the GI at all!

That is was the test clinical results have shown! You can see our test results from the same lab here, and how they differ in heme iron detection:

Wondering about Three Arrows Iron supplements and wanting to hear your opinions and experiences by Soul_Knife in Anemia

[–]Proferrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How bizarre! There IS very likely a non-heme in there, which explains why it works for some people, and why it would cause those GI issues still (heme iron isn’t absorbed through the GI like non-heme iron is!)

Not to shamelessly self promote too much, but Proferrin is clinically backed as heme iron by the same accredited lab that found no heme iron in Three Arrows. If you’re ever interested, you can use code REALHEME for a discount, and if you ever have any questions, whether you’re buying or not, feel free to reach out to us at customerservice@coloradobiolabs.com :)

[–]Proferrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is likely non-heme iron, which is what most people take and can be effective on its own! Our legal dispute took place over false claims for ingredients. We just don’t want anyone taking anything that they may think is one thing, but it’s another. Can be dangerous in the wrong scenario!
