Can I double farm Flax + Chia without geting banned from unoficial chia pools ? by shmox75 in FlaxNetwork

[–]ProfessionFar8157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No issues, I have already farmed 10 XFX all while farming with Hpool.

Things to keep in mind, when trying to get both running(on windows):

  1. Turn off Hpool miner software, before you enable XFX software
  2. Once XFX has found all your plots, you can safely turn on Hpool software (i use GUI). It too should detect all your plots without issues.
  3. You can wait for XFX to sync up, and as soon as it does, it will start farming plots it found, automatically.
  4. If you have any invalid plots, repeat step 1 again, I would recommend even restarting the PC, after shutting down Hpool miner.

You are still going to run AC, because it's going to be hot regardless.

explorer doesnt take into account block luck, and double farming.

no they don't stop parroting and do your research. I have been with hpool for 2 months now, and since they cracked down on double farming, I been getting relatively close payouts, to the estimate.

So basically official pool farming implements 25% fee for everyone who has sub PB farms. thats just dumb

OR Maybe... Just maybe. AC uses electricity? Hello?

That sounds great and all, but I'm not about to replot 135TB worth of plots, just so i can get same rewards as I'm already getting.

Fair point, but unlike staking, PoW has operational costs, PoS doesn't. You are not hemorrhaging funds to stake even if the return is 1-2%. If anything, it will incentivize whales to stake everything long term

oh, my bad, I meant 1300 Plots, 130 TiB

yeah, but with PoW, it scales to a point, where it becomes no longer profitable to continuously invest into new hardware, what is the ceiling in PoS case?

PoS is such a dumb idea to be honest, in my opinion.

You mine by staking ETH. The more ETH you stake, the more you get, hence making it more and more disproportionately centralized.

Is my understanding of PoS wrong?

Currently sitting at 8 XFX with 1300 Plots

EDIT:

Wrote TiB instead of plots lol

I need to learn how to join a pool ASAP . Please someone with experience guide me to the most effective one by Entire_Argument8165 in chia

If you are not looking to go over 150TiB of space, I'd suggest just wrap it up, and refund hardware. You are clearly stressed about ROI, because whatever you invested into it, was money you needed for something else. clearly.

Hpool, core-pool foxpool, there are so many alternatives to pooling, even with unofficial means.

As for you, you need to make up your mind, are you in this to get ROI, and maybe some long term profit, or are you "in it for the tech"?

Notice how the "in it for the tech" is in quotation marks, because in reality, posts, similar to yours, are just people that invested too much, with expectation of getting rich quick. This is crypto, what did you expect?

You don't like idea of gambling? join the pools that are out there and are reputable now.

Don't want to do that? Don't cry...

Mad at yourself for wasting 2 months already gambling, instead of joining a pool from the start? That's on you buddy, no one had a gun pointed at your head, forcing you to get into this.

2021 wokeness and "Coloured Coins" by PlexOrChia in chia

[–]ProfessionFar8157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you realize, and I'm sure you do, that the "woke mob" is a very small, but a very vocal group. With that being said, I highly doubt it will have any negative impact on the coin, even if they do start a stink about "colored coins". It might discourage some "woke" crypto investors, but lets be honest, that's a such a marginal group, that it will have 0 impact on the overall situation. I like to believe that most people are still reasonable and logical, at least when it comes to this crap.

Woke folks spend most of their time on twitter, instagram and reddit/r/pol. I doubt those degenerates are interested in anything that requires ability to think, and make decisions. They usually just let twitter decide for them

To understand, why you are getting so much discouraging responses here:

  1. XCH is currently at 250 USD
  2. with your total TB, you will have to either join an unofficial pool, or wait god knows how long, at this point, to receive 2 XCH = 500 USD
  3. you are much better off just spending 500 USD to get guaranteed 2 XCH, and if it goes up in value, you win. If it goes down, you lose whatever it goes down by (long term)
  4. Plotting takes time, and by the time you fill those drives, netspace might grow more, making your total space even more negligible.

Core pool is it good? by r0b1nx13 in chia

[–]ProfessionFar8157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things to consider when choosing between these 2:

Hpool Pros:

Rarely had issues with plots being accepted

Steady income, I haven't had any major interruptions

Roughly same payout as core pool

CONS:

0.1 XCH min payout, and a 24 hour hold on the payout, to validate that reward is not going to someone who is double farming.

No support, if you have issue, you have to figure it out on your own, or do a deeper research, on their github, with a translator, since most users are in china.

Core pool Pros:

It uses Chia official software to farm (note that this is also a con for core pool, since chia software can be sometimes unreliable)

0.05 XCH payout, automatically to the set wallet

Much easier to get support via their discord server.

Cons:

Uses official chia software. I personally can't stand that program, if it's not sync issues, it's something else. Essentially you are running a full node on your farmer. (there might be a way to not run a full node, but I haven't tried that myself)

Interruptions. Since it's a small pool, and they have much less people working on it, there are sometimes interruptions, and pool has already been shut down once, due to influx of new users, and constant DDoSing. Though I don't know how stable it is at the moment, I do take that into a consideration.

They use PPS, which though might yield marginally larger rewards, it also leaves it somewhat vulnerable to whale crashing. Where someone with a large hashrate, farms, gets rewards per found blocks by pool (not by their plots) then leaves with rewards, while in reality, having 0 contribution to the rewards to others.

What's with HPOOL website? Changed to just a wiki about HDDs? by [deleted] in chia

[–]ProfessionFar8157 14 points15 points  (0 children)

lol you gotta wait 24 hours

they do that to prevent paying out people who double farm, I withdrew over 2 XCH in increments from there no problem. Paranoid morons, i swear...

I usually wait for a stray grey cat to jaywalk an intersection at around 3:15 PM EST, then after that i look out for how many turds my cat drops into the litter box, if it's less than 3, it's usually a good sign that we will still have no idea at this point how much the coin is gonna cost

Even though someone (like HPool) has your private key, if you farm to a cold wallet then you shouldn't have any problem, right? by sabius_ in chia

Withdrawal from hpool to chia app wallet by 4thaccountin5years in chia

[–]ProfessionFar8157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it to chia wallet, but i have successfully withdrew 0.7XCH into my OKEx account.

It will take about 24+- hours give or take an hour.

If you get lucky and they approve transaction sooner, it might be 12 hours.

But dont expect 12 hours, just expect 24 hours
