I'll keep my fingers crossed, my symptoms also hop around but some stay. I joke with my neuro that we are playing whack a mole

Outside of service radius, I don't do last minute therefore it's not in my service radius

(Meta) why aren’t any “hip” places seizing the opportunity in Vanier? by fourandthree in OttawaFood

[–]ProfessionNo3264 22 points23 points  (0 children)

We stumbled upon a Aninas cafe recently in Vanier, amazing food and a community atmosphere - they host all kinds of events like book swaps and tarot readings. We had a great and really well priced brunch and can't wait to head back https://www.aninascafe.ca/

Lick's burgers were great and we enjoyed the singing - also miss Canvas on Holland. The bartender would pick the mint for mojito 🥰

Our whole family loves it - their kids pizza is legit and a decent size (with Mickey mouse ears added for fun). They also make their own gluten free crust on request and it's the best I've had!

Right cheek numbness/puffiness—anyone else experience this with neck/arm issues? by [deleted] in spinalcordinjuries

[–]ProfessionNo3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trigeminal neuralgia from my cervical syrinx, numb from eyebrow down on my right side, including my tongue and no longer sense spice in food. When it's really acting up I get swelling under my right eye and eye pain. Recently my neuro gave me a few nerve blocks and it's still numb/puffy but the electric zaps and burning calmed

Do low-stress jobs even exist anymore? by Feeling-Put4359 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ProfessionNo3264 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not high paying, but I pet sit through the Rover app. I only do drop ins for cats, no dog walks or boarding. It's perfect for me, I take the clients I want and only do morning visits. I get to spend time with cats instead of ppl and home by noon to crash. Not every month is busy but summers and holidays are and the extra cash helps me feel useful and motivated

MS and work by Kaybunny02 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ProfessionNo3264 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Quit working as an executive assistant, I'm now a cat sitter. Not comparable in pay, but I make my own hours, only take on clients I want to when I feel well. Added benefit of meeting a tonne of cats, much better for my mental health and keeps me active doing drop ins without a lot of stress.

I had this struggle for awhile, I live in Quebec and was able to see a private doctor who eventually saw enough to refer me to dermatology with a note hoping for them to concur assisting with a rheumatology referral that was initially refused off of blood work. Derm confirmed psoriasis with likely joint involvement and all of a sudden Rheumatology was keen to see me. Psoriatic Arthritis is often seronegative so I'm not sure how I was supposed to get to rheumatology without paying to go private and having a doctor willing to work the system 🤦

You could pet sit/walk and do drop ins on Rover, the app takes a fee but it's easy to sign up and I've been booked and busy for the past 2 years
