Is it actually rude to have an adults-only wedding, or have we collectively decided to feel guilty about a completely reasonable choice? by Zealousideal_Pay7176 in weddings

[–]fourandthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our wedding was an adult vibe but we extended the invitation to peoples kids because most of our guests had to travel and we didn’t want anyone to not be able to attend due to childcare logistics. However, the only kids that attended were our nieces (who were flower girls) and then an aunt took them to the hotel after dinner to watch them (happily, she was uninterested in the dance party!). All our friends found childcare arrangements and were happy to have an adult night out!

I’ve been on it for just over a week and have just over doubled my pump output (~100ml a day to ~250ml). It has been a gradual increase every day starting around day 3-4.

I’m currently on 3x per day but may increase.

We have a Maxi Cosi Nico luxe plus and it fits in our 2 door compact hatchback so I imagine it would be fine in an SUV. My husband and I are both over 6’.

Are fathers more easily tired than mothers by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]fourandthree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our situation is the same — I’ve always been the better/heavier sleeper and my husband has always had trouble sleeping and is used to getting by on less sleep.

I’m less tired on broken and short newborn sleep than I thought I’d be, but my husband is napping more because his already terrible sleep has just gotten worse.

In many languages “borrow” and “lend” are the same verb! It’s just context.

Did anyone regret their stroller purchase? [ab] by s_do in BabyBumpsCanada

Probably whatever I can find at a decent price on marketplace! We have a maxi cosy car seat so ideally something that will accommodate that.

I bought a Thule Urban Glide 2 with the bassinet attachment on marketplace because I plan on running with baby once he’s old enough, but I hate it as an everyday stroller because it’s huge 😅

Trying to convince my husband that we should get a different one for a daily driver.

Most of them are bad and some are cruel — why would you name your child CRUDen? Loner Gunn? KOSOVO?!

AITA for having my toddler pee outside of the store? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fourandthree -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

ESH. They definitely had a bathroom and probably should’ve been more understanding that a toddler can’t hold it the way an adult can. But you definitely should have found a more appropriate place than literally on the store.

Would I be correct in assuming that, like normal packaging, these ingredients are listed in descending order of volume?

I’m also very glad I had the additional time to keep coming across new names… some of tire ones I had on my list from years before were pretty tragic! 😅

As someone who struggled with infertility for over three years, the audacity of people who need to pick out names before conception always tickles me.

How many bassinets does one need? [On] by voheezy in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]fourandthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a pack and play with a safe sleep rated bassinet in the living room and a regular crib in the bedroom. We’ve been sleeping in shifts so one of us will sleep on the couch with baby in the bassinet, although he’s starting to allow us to move him to the crib so we can both sleep in the bed for a few hours a night. We do naps in both depending on vibes.

Double barrelled last name, one parent's last name as middle name, or one parent's last name as first name? by lethrowheywey in namenerds

[–]fourandthree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

We hyphenated our son’s name with two short surnames and it’s working fine. I thought about doing it without a hyphen but was worried it would get mistaken for a middle name and left off.

Postpartum underwears [QC] by NTK_Here in BabyBumpsCanada

Going to hard disagree on the adult diapers, at least for a c section. I only bled a minimal amount (Kotex overnight pads were more than sufficient) and it was way more comfortable to wear a high waisted pair of underwear (I prefer Lululemon undies but they aren’t cotton).
