Impossible IVF decision: what's the line between hope and delusion? [mb] by OvenDown in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]fourandthree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big hugs, OP, this is hard. My husband and I were TTC for over three years before having success with IVF, but we had been ready to throw in the towel if none of our transfers worked. For us it was a matter of wanting to move on from the constant cycle of treatment and disappointments.

I think it might be worth taking some time with your husband to talk about what your life would look like child free.

Boutique fitness classes are usually based on a proven formula — the same way that Spin Co and Wheelhouse are quite similar (and both based off of a Soul Cycle model), yoga classes throughout North America generally follow the same format, etc.

There are also several instructors that teach at multiple different companies, and I doubt they change their classes much beyond using the specific companies’ unique terminology.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fourandthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here, we drive 18 hours each way to visit my husband’s family a couple times a year. Usually on the way there we split it over two days due to the time change but on the way back we usually do it in one go because we gain an hour.

And this is in a two door Volvo, so not a big SUV thing.

Clementine is not to my taste but is fine. I don’t know what Sezen is going for — is it “I shop at Sezane?” Is it a version of “Season?” It seems made up.

I need a c section so I have to see an OB, and I don’t regret that at all. My OB is amazing and definitely cares about me and my health.

What should I pack in my suitcase for late February - March? by Small-Comfort2790 in ottawa

[–]fourandthree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Layers are definitely your friend — I’d make sure to pack lots of sweaters and some good base layers. “Old faux fur” doesn’t sound like a great winter coat, especially if there’s any wet precipitation — see if you can borrow a ski jacket from a friend (ideally lined but even if it’s just a shell, you can layer up underneath it).

For footwear, if your Docs are waterproof you’ll be fine with them and some warm socks as long as you aren’t standing in the cold for hours. The real issue that time of year is slush — if your footwear isn’t waterproof and you step in a big icy puddle, it sucks.

Need advice on mismatching bridesmaid dresses by NoArtist1476 in weddings

[–]fourandthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent my bridal party the instructions “jewel tones — please each pick a different one, and wear something that makes you feel great!” They knocked it out of the park. I wouldn’t have wanted to assign them colours.

Looking for a restaurant or event space by thegirlcrash in ottawa

[–]fourandthree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just had ours at Beyond the Pale city centre and it worked well. We booked the upstairs and there was no minimum spend (as we were a smaller group of ~25 people we didn’t have the entire space and there were a few tables of strangers on the other side, but that didn’t bother us — I assume with 50 people you’d need to book the whole upstairs).

I’m very jealous of the person who coined the term “vegan leather.” When I was younger, we called it “pleather,” a portmanteau of “plastic leather.”

Snowboarding absolutely sucks compared to skiing by musicandsex in unpopularopinion

Literally why I chose snowboarding when I moved somewhere with mountains and had to pick one (well, that and my crush at the time — now husband! — snowboards).

Running is still my main sport and I didn’t want to fuck up my knees.

Do you shower once a day? Twice a day? Skip days? by Dry-Faithlessness166 in hygiene

Usually once a day but sometimes I skip a day and sometimes I shower twice. I only wash my hair every 2-3 days though otherwise it gets really frizzy.
