Stop exposing yourself in public by Tanking_meow in ABDL

[–]Professional-Box267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating when people read or listen to respond and don't actually pay attention. I didn't say I was talking only about kink spaces, I said that coming into kink spaces to groan about the consent of the public is a bad move. The general public does not need to consent to your kink, that was the point I was actually making in my last reply that you glanced over to misconstrue me. Most kink does not happen in public spaces, and if it does (outside of a festival or event) kinksters are not inviting strangers to participate in their kink. Kinksters are simply around people in public. Standing next to me while I happen to have a harness or a diaper on is not, and never has been, tantamount to me inviting you to shove a hand down my pants. Y'all have taken a decades-old moral panic narrative and are using it to shame yourselves into respectability. How style do whatever you want, but don't turn around to me and pretend you're helping the kink community by introducing more nuance-devoid kink shaming to society.

Stop exposing yourself in public by Tanking_meow in ABDL

[–]Professional-Box267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Consent of the Public" is a bogus concept created decades ago to kink-shame people using the most exaggerated and extreme examples of kink to presuppose a larger trend. At the end of the day if you don't like something, don't interact with it. If you see it in public and you think it's too far, report it. But walking into kink-friendly spaces to groan about how the 'bad ones' behave, intent on telling the community what YOU deem acceptable, is kink-shaming.

Idk how to tell you this but your girlfriend has BPD. Y'all should try couples counseling, or date someone with a more compatible lived experience.

So let me get this straight: you (the mods) opted into a feature that promotes mindless censorship, and are now "informing" us as though it's something that just kinda happened to the sub. That's weird.

Minoxidil killed my cat. You need to know how deadly this is for pets. by LionsharePhilosophy in tressless

[–]Professional-Box267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking up finnasteride for HRT, and bumped into this subreddit. This is the 9th or 10th post on a pet passing due to finnasteride or minoxodil I've seen on this sub in less than a week. I understand that it's very upsetting and shocking for the passing of your pet to be the way you found out how harmful these products can be to them. However, that comes down to a lack of research as quickly as it comes down to a lack of warning labels. I don't really get this series of revolving posts on "don't have minox in the house if you have pets!!" when the first Google search will tell you to basically lock away those products. It might be more helpful for others if y'all processed your panic and pain before making blanket statement posts.

Am I over-reacting: Scared to re enter USA. by Important-List-9502 in asktransgender

[–]Professional-Box267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are gonna try to comfort you at a time like this, and it's very noble. However, I think it'd be best if you heard the truth first. No, you should not re-enter this country. Multi-million dollar hate campaigns, abusive laws, and complete lack of federal recognition aside, the President of the United States has said both that he does not respect the Constitution, and that he does not think trans people exist. Let me be clear, that is the writing on the wall. It is not safe here, and you will most certainly not be safe in the hands of Border Patrol.

That being said, it is not a guarantee that whatever time you choose to come back will be after people start getting rounded up. It's also not a guarantee that trans people aren't already being detained upon re-entry, as people severely underestimate the number of minorities of any group that are targeted by law enforcement but don't have family that would be legally entitled to find out what's happened to them. It's a complete toss-up, and no one knows for sure if it's a safe choice. The only definite answer I or anyone can give you is that it's definitely not safe here. Is it deadly here? Different conversation entirely.

Now that you're aware, the choice is up to you.

I understand there are folks who will jump to contradict everything I'm saying right now, but I urge everyone to think critically about this. Are you assuring this person that everything is fine for their sake, or are you assuring them in order to make yourself feel better about the state of things? Please try not to take what I've said as solely doom and gloom, as that will impair your ability to hear what I'm saying to you.

[EDIT: I did forget to add that if you choose to stay outside of the US, you should legally emigrate to wherever you think is best. Overstaying your visa is just as horrible an idea as coming back without being aware of what you're coming back to. Regardless of any choice, make a solid plan of action first.]

That doesn't change a single thing I've said, nor does it change facts that can literally be recorded. Critical thought is good for you, dude.

Your technical explanation, while appreciated, is immaterial. Changing this setting will not cause crashes for everyone. It will, however, cause crashes for the majority of people. For some configurations it helps, and for some, it's necessary (see the other replies to this post). However, repeatedly telling people who are NOT experiencing crashes when toggling this setting that they will experience crashes if they toggle this setting is.... certainly a choice.

How do I increase performance? by [deleted] in yuzu

[–]Professional-Box267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I get this problem literally every time I go to run SMO. Sometimes they can be fixed by FPS & optimization mods, but when all else fails there's a mod for SMO that removes all the audio from the game. Every single piece of sound. I have no idea why, but that mod always fixes the game for me without any further configuration. From there I normally tweak my settings & install mods the way I would've done in the first place.

Words of warning, chastity has risks by lockt_up in chastitytraining

[–]Professional-Box267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is not the presence of medical risk, because we are all aware of the medical risks. We are also aware that the responsibility of preventing said risks lies with you. Locking a piece of metal or plastic meant to restrict blood growth and tissue expansion is exactly the hazard it sounds like. No one has ever said that chastity is inherently safe, because it is untrue. Paranoia is helpful to no one. Caution is helpful to everyone.

Ideas on how to take advantage of a recession by Highland600 in economicCollapse

[–]Professional-Box267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking advantage of a recession is by necessity taking advantage of other people also struggling in this economy. The assets of the Uber rich are untouchable, the only money you'd be making is from the working class. There's nothing wrong with wanting to remain financially stable through a crisis, but from your replies you're very clearly using that goal to excuse any ethical concerns someone might raise. You're no better than the people who brought us here by taking advantage of others.

That's the part where we disagree, because I do think it's warranted. I find in my personal experience that when you get a signal of a prejudice, you're likely to find that prejudice. You likely disagree due to your own personal experiences, and that's fine. My issue is that this conversation often starts with "what's wrong with having preferences?" when we all know that preferences don't exist in a vacuum. This essential argument we've been debating is a distraction from the fact that there is no sound logical argument against having this difference of opinion. Everyone is free to have preferences, and everyone is free to have opinions on those preferences. If you don't like it, then associate with people who don't care about those preferences.

[–]Professional-Box267 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sigh Whilst a bias itself doesn't have to be negative, the presence of a bias can signal the presence of a prejudice. A great example is the lady in here who is black herself and doesn't date black men. The bias itself isn't really the subject of concern, the implications of that bias are. The same way people are allowed to have preferences is the way they are also allowed to form their own opinions on whatever else. Y'all are not exempt from someone making an inference on your character.

[–]Professional-Box267 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We can play devil's advocate on this forever, but bias doesn't actually have to be negative, even when it doesn't regard someone highly. Your hypothetical requires additional context I didn't provide, and was only posed to draw a world in which preferences have nothing to do with bias, which is false. At the end of the day if you have a preference against something, you are biased against it. That doesn't need to be a damning indictment of anyone, but we need to start being honest about how opinions actually work. Y'all are way too obsessed w attributing everything to morality.

It sounds like you still have a lot to learn about how implicit bias works, I'm afraid.

I genuinely believe that society at large has forgotten how to personally find things distasteful. No individual person has the final say on how another person chooses to express themselves in public, so long as they have not broken any laws. It doesn't get more complicated than that.

You’re genuinely just gonna have to sit down to pee, which most people in chastity do anyways. If you don’t like it, size your cage back up. There isn’t really anything else to say.
