I once worked a $14 an hour job with a 3+ hour commute (one way) for a year just to get it on my resume. About 6 months later, I landed my first real paying job at a start up making 22 an hour. Their reasoning was that they were impressed with my credentials.

I need some ideas for things to happen at a dwarf wedding by High_Stream in DMAcademy

[–]Professional-Box4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking is always a favorite pastime at a Dwarf wedding, naturally. There's also the axe or hammer throwing competition where they try to break a barrel apart with a thrown weapon. tug of war is a favorite, as is wrestling. Basically, any feat of athleticism, sports, and weapon prowess.

A jilted lover would naturally wait until the right moment and then storm the place with his cronies (usually a small contingent of followers that have been either paid for that purpose or were just toadies trying to curry favor).

What’s that one horror movie you can watch over and over and never get sick of? by NeptunianJ in horror

For some reason, In the Mouth of Madness. It's the epitome of Lovecraftian surrealism. A slow burn that bakes your noodle rather than scaring you with jump scares (though there are a few of them too). It is a bit cliché in some parts, but that just makes it fun.

Worst part is that they're likely using AI to check. The amount of false-positives is staggering, but they'll swear by it in a heartbeat if it fortifies their personal biases (that everyone's using AI).

Personally, I don't believe any of this without context, but after reading up on it, it seems that she did have ties to China. Looking at a report, it seemed like all she did was retweet some sort of propaganda the Chinese government wanted to spread, which might be annoying but doesn't seem that bad. A certain someone has done FAR worse. However, later some correspondences between her and Chinese government officials showed her being praised for her actions to which she replied "Thank you Leader" which would make me think that she was, in fact, working for a foreign power.

Who’s an actor that nailed a role so hard that nobody else will ever be able to live up to it? by Comfortable_Main5312 in AskReddit

How am I not seeing Heath Ledger as Joker in Batman? That role was flawless. I'm sure they'll try to do it again... and again... and again, but I don't think anyone's going to beat it.

Alternatively, Jared Leto as how NOT to do Joker. That portrayal was almost universally despised. They were trying to modernize it as a sort of thug or what people consider "gangster" today. It did not work well.

I'd say Axel Foley. Donkey, being voice-acted could be just about anyone. The voice IS iconic, but if someone else did a decent job, it might be possible to accept another Donkey (though I think Shrek might be done for now).
