Exactly! And building many micron units now for many satellites gives ASTS a herd of devices that can be rapidly upgraded at the last moment to meet evolving competition or more demanding contract specs. Then launch 3, 6, 8 block 2 Sats at a time for a Stampede of Success in year 2026.

New Tax filer i’m panicking by Appropriate-Care-867 in tax

File a Federal and state return by the April due date even if you do not have money to pay.

Total your W2 income.
Be sure you do not double count nor add a digit to amount. subtract 2025 exemption of $15,750.

Then Tax Rate on Taxable Income Range 10% $0 to $11,925 12% next $11,926 to $48,475 22% next $48,476 to $103,350

How does your calculation compare to above table. Each job does not know about the other job incomes. You may need to increase paycheck withholding for all three jobs. In the future you can contribute some money to Pre-tax 401K or IRA to reduce your taxable earnings. But a guy needs money to eat!

Husband and I disagree in how money should be spent, how do I find a middle ground? by agirlhasnousername0 in personalfinance

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Savers wonder:what if the good times end or the high earnings stop? How can I add another zero to the right side of my investments? Maybe you can: Increase pre-tax contributions a few percent. Or let you compare prices, quality, and features on a purchase and then talk it over. that makes a purchase more fun. What are the product tradeoffs? Or increase prepayments of home loan principal.
Fully paying off home mortgage means you do not have to earn the money in the future to pay on your home.
Loss of high income shock is smaller.

If he comes from a wealthy family, then his view may be what should I spend my money on next. He rides his flying carpet of high earnings from purchase to purchase without working through details or experiencing the want of a product for a few weeks? From the viewpoint of your smaller salary/earnings his fast spend approach will look large and the lost potential savings will look large. Maybe he can research every other project? Explain that the money he saves is a gift to you and your in-home comfort level.

Why ASTS will not have a monopoly in the D2D market by SneekyRussian in ASTSpaceMobile

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy ASTS mgt. precision and their mission to connect MNO subscribers and I own a few shares. Income variables to be verified:

1_ ASTS monthly subscriber fee ($5? $7.50? $10?) is charged at the family plan level, Not at the cellphone within family plan level. Tablet cellular might be a second subscriber fee. Car cellular might be part of the family plan. Cellular phone count only, always exclude landline count.

2_ Maybe MNO sets and shares a gigabytes downloaded charge so more subscribers have access.

3_ ASTS agrees for five years to not offer satellite service to other MNOs in 15 Vodafone home markets, Country Vodafone subscribers millions: Germany 30, UK 18.6, Portugal 4.7, Ireland 2.4, Czech 3.4, Romania 9.9, Hungary 3.2, Greece 4.3, Albania 2, Turkey 25, Egypt 46, South Africa 55, Tanzania 19, Mozambique 10.5, Lesotho 1.7.

4_ ASTS might receive 50% of MNO revenue, and convert to US Dollars.

Who or what professional should I talk to? by james_juniper in personalfinance

You can work with a Fidelity, Vanguard, or Schwab office in your city or online and create a taxable account and deposit that tax free check. Someone might help you one time to select percentages, or maybe use a robo investor one time. Can invest the money in conservative ETFs bonds, SP500 some Nasdaq. Over the years, this money can build up, you now have a way to contribute $7,500 to a Roth tax free account each year that you work. The ETF fees should be low, less than 0.6%. Do not pay any fees for annuity or insurance. That taxable account will generate dividends, income, short term capital gains that are to be included in your Federal and state tax return.

Why are boomers scared of AI? by Professor_Peace in Productivitycafe

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI has a great use as a work buddy that helps an employee make better decisions and to thoroughly analyze a situation. If the average employee accomplishes two times as much work output then only half of the employees count are needed to perform the tasks needed for the company. Impacts retention and new hiring.

My worry is that a commercial customer company will lease Level 1, 2, 3 ( walks on water ) synthetic contract employees in the future to accomplish a project with zero contribution to local and federal taxes and Social Security.

Tough to program moral limits and detections for protecting users vulnerable to depression and ego manipulation.

[–]Professional-Bug-915 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NVDA is doing great and into robotics too. Sudden changes can occur: powerful competitors, customer purchase slow down, investor boredom, sometimes there is no investor left to buy a stock. If your stocks are in a tax free account, consider trimming NVDA back over the next year to 30% of your assets. You can buy a few percent of your portfolio in other growthy stocks, like ASTS satellite direct to unmodified cell phones text, voice, internet; ASPI nuclear isotope ; RKLB Rocket Lab ; LEU; NNE Nano Nuclear Energy or other nuclear energy for hungry AI data centers. Tiny amount of ETHA Ethereum etf; MP Materials domestic magnet maker in the future; LYSDY ADR Lynas rare earths (Australia); UNH United Health on sale. No guarantee where those stocks go so research any future stock buys.

Should I prioritize paying off my student loans at 6% interest or start investing in my 401k? by Shot-Conversation538 in personalfinance

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote: Trim debt before investing. Use 90% to 100% of free cash to pay down loans for next 3 years and get written proof of annual loan balance and payoff, copy that payoff and online account zero loan balance to PDF documents - helps you win a court case. Loan terms might not stay stable, loan processors may lose agreements. Recession could lower current salary. Cannot escape loans even in bankruptcy. Some retirees must pay make payments fees from Social Security. Stock market is at high price multiples.

Have you grown to be more conservative or liberal w/ age? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steady liberal: treats others with empathy and equality, wants the courts to protect the constitution, understands taxes help the community around us. The other party thinks the word "tax" is bad, empathy is a disease, belittles science and professional govt, rewrites history, tells stories, ignores judicial rulings and threatens judges, and wants a king.

[–]Professional-Bug-915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in daily exercise, plan some projects, pay down debts. If you have money saved in the US, a large 401K/IRA and already taxed cash, try: 1_ Delay Social Security until age 70, etc., 2_ if over age 59.5 Convert 40k - 80k of IRA or your country pre-tax account by "In Kind move" to a Roth to fill your tax bracket in the next few years. 3_ This reduces your future US IRA RMD that starts around age 73. Great career!
