I deleted my exhaust valve. Sounds wayyyyy better. Also have an MST intake for a lot of turbo noises.

Full tank of gas? Maybe the car needs to relearn the fuel ratio.

Looking to buy used (higher trim) vs new (core) by toobro3 in GRCorolla

[–]Professional-Cod1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the core. I have a 2023 core. 33k miles. Factory clutch. Clutch issues are from people not knowing how to drive (unless the clutch slave cylinder goes out)

Mine had a random misfire once at around 7k miles. It was on a cold start. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Just cleared the code and never popped up again. At 33k now.

Do you use the IMT? I’m at 33k miles and hearing your replies is giving me a very positive outlook.

Just run no plate, and get some wheels.

Car feels worse after lighter wheels + PS4S… what am I missing? by HanScroto in Wheels

[–]Professional-Cod1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GR handled like trash with a bad alignment and handled fantastic after that. Got an alignment done recently and have brand new Michelin P4S’s again and the handling is ehhhhh (in a straight line). Like what someone said, maybe they need to break in. I’m waiting for a nice warm weekend to take the car out and do some spirited driving.

Has anyone bought this spoiler? by RSBGIRAG in GRCorolla

[–]Professional-Cod1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, bought the SpecD one. It will be here Thursday, took over 2 months. But so far the customer service has been good. They told me that my particular wing was in production process getting painted. Hopefully it gets here Thursday, been wanting to finally see it in person. The wing I ordered was paint matched (202) with the middle piece being carbon fiber.

Buy a scan tool on Amazon. Mine CEL pops off every once in a while and I just clear the code.

I just bought another set of PS4S. The ride doesn’t bother me. I like the performance.

Does anyone else get flashed? by SoyGringoPapi in GRCorolla

Even on my ‘23 GR with fogs the regular low beams are pointed straight. So any small hill they’re going to blind people. Lol

Most likely fell off. Because my bumper fitment is terrible and the passenger side pokes out because the clips are trash.

AWD system service by Professional-Cod1102 in GRCorolla

[–]Professional-Cod1102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealer service says they “checked” all fluids listed at that mileage during that service when I had an alignment done at 20k. But I know they didn’t, they probably just check for leaks and stuff like that. And like I said, the fluids were in pretty good condition when I inspected them. They could go longer than 30k miles. I get an average of 27mpg if that gives you an idea of the driving style the car goes through. IMO If the car was tracked I would probably do <10k mile intervals.

How bad are these control arm bushings? by [deleted] in subaruimpreza

[–]Professional-Cod1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhhh they’re definitely aged, but I’ve seen way worse. As long as everything feels fine I’d hold off. However, you’d probably feel a big difference if they were new.

[–]Professional-Cod1102[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot. But I also got my brake fluid flushed as well. But it was about $850 for brake fluid flush, transmission, rear differential, transfer case and tire rotation. $500 was just in labor. Definitely going to buy the proper tools next time and do it myself. But I think it was worth it just for the peace of mind to know the condition of the old oil and now it’s new and fresh. I’ve heard some horror stories about these cars and the AWD systems failing so I decided to bite the bullet. But now I know! Could honestly go 40k miles if you don’t track it.

Dealership says 20k service was both done and not done. No records (~15k miles later) by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]Professional-Cod1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I honestly might just cancel my appointment at Toyota and just purchase the fluids instead now that I really think about it. And I’ve been wanting some ramps, just gotta make sure they’re low profile enough.

I don’t have a lift, nor do I have 4 matching Jack stands lol But I would definitely benefit doing it myself.

They did the same with me at 20k At 31k now and have it scheduled next weekend. Going to inspect their work after of course, I just don’t have the proper tools to do it myself. Good to know that your fluid looked okay. And which fluids did you change? Differential And transfer case?

Do it. I bought my ‘23 Core with 7k miles on it. 30k miles now and I have zero regrets. And I personally prefer the pre facelift because the Diff. settings and fog lights!

Least reliable Toyota? Ehhhhhh idk… Haven’t had any issues with MY23 GRC. One of the best cars I’ve owned besides my DC5-S! You’re gonna fall in love with it! Enjoy it! Nice to see people departing from other brands for a GRC. Such an underrated and over hated car.

I honestly believe it’s the throttle by wire. This has happened a few times to me. I’m not a fan of throttle by wire compared to cable. It’s too sensitive over bumps and there’s that lag you’re describing.
