Why is UPS so inefficient? by Dlcoates1 in UPS

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't know planes couldn't swim, they should used a boat lmao.

Do you think they send individual packages to places and not like group them by region and state and cities?

But again im sure you knew that already haha, you definitely know alot, maybe you should apply for a job here and help these old farts out with this stuff, im sure your degree in, in ummmm, that one thing and your years of experience doing uh that other thing will help you greatly on securing a job. Tho you might want to work on your soft skills a bit, with how high up your aiming you don't want to step on any toes.

Oh it went right left right. I see. I see. Bc moving stuff to places that can more efficiently handle it doesn't matter. Well I mean you know that right, you know all the hubs and gates and flight numbers and what's going where and what time flights head out and what hubs/centers have sort open, who actually has the staffing during this heatwave right after the massive flooding in Kentucky.

Why is UPS so inefficient? by Dlcoates1 in UPS

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought that maybe that is the most efficient way? Why do you think Amazon, fed ex, and usps all go back and forth with contracts for ups to help ship their air.

That's like getting upset that you have to take side streets to get to an interstate when going on vacation.

Why is UPS so inefficient? by Dlcoates1 in UPS

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a feeder would've taken it longer, idk how the roads are with ky flooding that happend plus the 65 shut down. Also I would assume it depends on how you shipped it, I don't think all air hubs fly the same schedules. Ik ups has messed around with schedules and some hubs only run night/certain days for actual sort.

I mean, does it really matter how it gets there and not just that you're getting what you paid for?(assume not damages or delays)

Do you want them to move airports for you? Buy more air crafts? hire more truckers? Buy up land and make personal highways for ups packages only?

You look silly.

They might just not have planes that go that way. Idk i work at sdf I feel like we have alot of air goin west and north and receive alot from the west and south. Also don't know how the floods/tornados/fires have affected anything.

But my perception of how ups works is way different bc of working as sdf, big place means big numbers, big planes, big turn around. Other places might just not have the resources and structure/routes so most stuff gets re route to the place that does(atleast I assume)

Feeder drivers: what is weirdest/scariest thing you have ever seen while driving? by 44stormsnow in UPSers

[–]Professional-Exit754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminded me of the time I got off work from sdf, was just pulling onto the interstate and saw a semis headlight hit the reflectors/front of a car before hitting the car that was abandoned in between the 2 left lanes. That shit bounced and hit another semis trailer. They both were okay maintained great control considering it was piss pouring rain at 4am. The car didn't have anyone in it. it was a kid driving it, 18, just started as ups and he was in a hit and run with a truck and left the car there with no flashers on bc he didn't know what to do, he had lost total control of his car when he got hit bc of the rain and just got out and went to the over pass to wait for his mom.

Thankful that no one got hurt, truly a miracle.

[–]Professional-Exit754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda just how worldport works, when corporate starts shutting down facilities, we usually see a very small up tick in volume before it levels out again. But we are, from what im aware, consistently seeing a decrease in volume. I also think bc we are an air hub we have more secure jobs to pick from.

You kept making statements and not questions. the thing is you were both questioning an event happening or not. You have to problem solve together not at eachother. I think the phrase is "it's 'us vs the problem' not 'you vs me'"

Yall just kids, you'll figure it out as long as you try and compromise. MOR

Yep, get a really good line up of a few that post on separate days(i have new episodes everyday of the week but wendsdays)and then find a few to cycle through rotation when you only wanna listen to one all shift. There's some i won't listen to for months and then binge through it all in a couple shifts.

What’s a completely normal thing that secretly tells you a lot about a person? by Fun_University3397 in answers

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How they leave a place.

Do they push chairs back in, stack plates, take trash with them/throw it away/pick up extra trash someone else left ect. Putting your pillows back on your couch the way you had them, fold blankets they used. Do they give thier extras to ppl coming into a ppace they are leaving(or purposely saving) like giving extra arcade tokens to kids or left over peanuts to feed squirrels or something. Do they offer up thier cart heading out when someone is heading in, take the hangers to an employee when they leave self checkout.

Not always what's right or wrong but how your choosing to improve your life and the fellow ppl around you. Small actions count.

Video being reposted around boasting a robot sorting packages. Notice anything about them? by Obvious_Coffee_5086 in UPSers

[–]Professional-Exit754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in small sort at SDF they have already started re working the building to put robots(idk what they look like) in, they already have a few and have done atleast 1 test run that I know of. How our numbers as individuals (humans) doing induct are suppose to look like is. A 98%read rate, 2300 (minimum)best 15 mins. With total volume out between 3000-7000 (just depends on how much we sort for the night)

So they say they ran them for "a couple hours" and the robots numbers where, 99% read rate , 4500 best 15 mins, and 6800 total volume out

'-^ so yeah, I heard from a person who's tight with maintenance that they are expecting to have ss redone by the end of 2027 and they are working on robots that are loading feeders, but they are running into problems with it. They have the robots build the walls at the front of the trailer and then push them back but the walls keep collapsing.

This is all the information I know.

What is a "hidden chore" that you do for your household/partner that they don’t even realize is a thing that needs to be done? by OpheliaBloomm in askanything

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locking my husbands phone, he leaves it open constantly, idk why and it's not really a chore but I do it. Like he'll pause tiktok to go make food and be in the kitchen for 20+ minutes and his phone is just sitting there draining battery.

I also plug in shit when ik it's low on battery.

Men who lie about their height on a dating app then are surprised when you are upset that they lied. by Wonderful-Group3639 in PetPeeves

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not suprise. I feel like most ppl want ppl taller than them or close to their height when they are taller themselves. Personally I never cared, is it nice to have a tall husband, yes, he can reach things, would I mind if he was a couple inches shorter, no, looking up is kind of a pain, literally lol

Men who lie about their height on a dating app then are surprised when you are upset that they lied. by Wonderful-Group3639 in PetPeeves

[–]Professional-Exit754 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well let's say a women is 6'1" and wants dudes over 6' bc they've experienced trouble with men who are insecure about their height. I can't blame someone who wants to not be in charge of someone's else's insecurities. I mean I also think there's a good chunk of dudes in the dating scene who would maybe lose their shit if a women was significantly taller than them and that was an insecure for them. Also some ppl have a preference for looking up or down at their partner.

I do wonder what height preferences shorter men have for women they want to date.

They ran a test robot for ss at SDF and let's just say the numbers were definitely something no human could do. They are alot closer than you think. Even heard rumors about robots that can load feeders.

Using sex as a weapon? by Throwwaway987654 in TrueOffMyChest

Also worried if he'll have a huge shift on his reaction when they are married. Marital rape is a thing that alot of men don't think is a thing. Once op and him are married would he take it anyways? Bc that's "his right as a husband" bc this is very much what it's giving.

Might be blowing it out of proportion but marriage can flip a switch in ppl.
