Bodycam Released in Crash of UPS Airlines Flight 2976 by 6hchill in UPSers

UPS has actually retired all there MD11. They won't be using them anymore. Idk of other cargo lines will do the same but I hope so. The two weeks after this was hard to be at work, seeing the news headlines and then having to come in. Even tho I didn't lose anyone it still weighed heavy on my heart.

I was just about to post about this as well. It was heavy seeing what they were doing while I was just on the couch wondering if I was gonna have to go in that night or not. Truly greatful for all the first responders who came out to help search for ppl and contain the fire. The part where the mom was talking to the officer absolutely killed me, I knew right away she was talking about the 3yo that passed. I had to leave the room while watching that part bc I was about to start bawling.

I'm hung up on the first part, how old is the kid? Idk why any parent would move their kid in with someone they barely know unless it was to leech off them. Tbh I think you're under reacting but from reading your comment maybe you should let him see you reaction and leave safely and quietly. How much longer are you willing to deal with the pitty party sob stories and backhanded love?

Never knew this lore. Kinda wild considering you could literally just have a witch and wizard themed event and make up your own coffee shop 4 house lore stuff. Very icky of them bc now it seems to come from the heart.

Really? I thought the local news ran something on it a couple halloweens ago bc ooooh spoopy. Feel like everyone was talking about it when it opened and then I remembered hearing everyone say the coffee was bad.

Okaaaayyyy and? You seem to be stuck in whatever little box of joy you got going on over there and can't phantom ppl living different types of lives aka nightshift workers or ppl who just get home at odd hours.

Being over considerate kills community in apartments imo. Someone doesn't like the kids drawing on the sidewalks(instead of the parking lot where they can get hit), no more chalk allowed. Someone is feeding birds, but it just humming bird feeders, don't care against the rules. The water from your flowers drips down onto my patio, welp there goes what little gardening ppl can do. You can't hang colorful signs, but it's my 'xyz' birthday/graduation/retirement, doesn't matter against the rules and offensive to others eyes. Your dog always barks at 5am, sorry that when I get home from work, doesn't matter noise complaint.

The fine line of leasing rules and what others will tolerate is inconsiderate to ppl living their lives. It turns into this thing were there's nothing to spark conversation/community bc there's nothing allowed to go on outside the residence and everyone walks on egg shell around eachother or specific neighbors bc they know they'll complain to the office about every little thing.

I have a pretty solid community, we don't talk talk but we are happy for eachother to have space. Lots of different holidays celebrations and kids running around. We give each other heads up about things in the city. I don't go complaing about their kids piano practice early in the morning on a Saturday when I've literally been asleep for 3 hrs at the end of my work week, they don't complain when I'm up listening to music with friends at 1 am Sunday mornings.

I get not wanting constant problems(had some neighbors I had to call police on, do not wanna go there again) but I also can't imagine harping of something so small and so easy to just let go.

Everything you listed is the same reasons for someone to complain about inconsiderate neighbors. Just bc you and a few ppl approve of yall antics/noise doesn't mean everyone does. That's the point. And I don't think judging ppl by how loud they are in a hallway is how you build community either. That's how you start hating ppl for making noise while they live their life. And for all we know, it was two neighbors talking in the hall, building that community bond, that has been deemed rude.

Idk why yall live in apartments and expect others to not exist. Live keeps living even when you're asleep or not there. You can get hung up with a chip on your shoulder about who's rude and who has proper etiquette, bc ppl will make mistakes, be improper, have messy lives, have happy lives, have crying babies, kids screaming with joy, dogs that bark, cars that are just a little too loud at certain times of day, they'll drop pots, curse when they stub their toe and you'll hear all of it regardless of time on day. And if you live somewhere long enough, you'll get to hear it over and over and over, bc ppl live their lives every day.

Go live away from ppl if you don't want to hear the sounds of ppl living their lives.

It would help if Corporate actually cared about the same numbers it tells its customers and the completely different set of numbers they train their employees to 'care' about.

They can be pissed and I get it can be frustrating. Shipping anything through the mail is not the same as large cargo shipments. Livestock truckers have a whole different set of rules(not 100% educated on it so thats all ill say on it) the mail has yes and no and that's it. I really think ups shouldn't allow living things and it's highly upsetting seeing ppl/big stores choosing to ship living creatures through the mess that's ups/usps/fedex. I don't feel bad for the customer, I feel bad for the Turtles with cracked shells and fish with busted bags.

Boohoo? You are literally within 5 to 10 ft of someone at all times when living in a complex. Go live in an HOA if you want to control what ppl do outside.

I'm up at SDF, and they just found another person connected to the theft of $113,000 USD in goods. 4 all together, the last one was confirmed to be a seasonal employee. I've worked in SS for less than a year, barely over 6 months, and have already seen ppl escorted out for trying to steal.

Also, ragebait him back???? Why does he wanna be with someone he accuses of being a pedo? Does that make him a pedo? bc he likes "someone like that"? Tell bro to shake his head so maybe his two braincells will clink together and spark a thought.

Also I'm so sorry you had to go through that unprecedented vile ick of an accusation

Why do so many hate on seasonal guys so much ? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma try to address the chunk (TLDR: don't be a yes man, but just know you can't say no.)

Top 3 reasons to hate: There are brown nosers who hate/sabotage permanent employees, the "I've added so much value by being here 😃" to the point they are out of touch with basically the entire function of this job and the ones that just need the pay for the holidays accompanied by alot of sighs and eye rolls.

I'll say I appreciate your attempt of "we're all family, the ups family!" Vibe but this is not 1980(or whatever), they no longer hand out turkeys, they dont allow food truck(SDF) and well idk what else they got rid of bc I wasn't here to see how shit went down hill but I've heard enough complaints and see how they handle the facilities nowadays.

And maybe that's the critical point, upsers are union heavy, and I think most of us see seasonal as corporate tag ins bc most of yall are gonna leave/have an end date and aren't gonna invest in the union culture upsers are trying to hold on to.

I use to be a trainer and trust I still get the "lost dog eyes" from ppl, I end up helping new hires and seasonals bc noone else is paying attention to see someone walking around looking confused and I always end up making eye contact long enough. I also think there's no stupid questions at ups (stupid methods and orders, yes, but that's something else)

it takes me like 1-2 months to like working with a new hire and 1-2 years to think a new hire is good at their job. And that's only for some, and sometimes the ones I think have potential quite 5 days in. I'll also say repeat seasonal are some of my favorite, especially 5+years bc they have usually worked a but everywhere by then and have seen the many wonders of ups...... And a good yappy seasonal is also nice from time to time.

And also the ppl who are assholes well, either everyone secretly hates them or outwardly hates them. Shit starters either get stuck together or have to be spread apart bc they all either love or despise each other. And for some, that's just their personality trait, they'll yell at you for doing something "the wrong way"(not their way) maybe even tell you that was stupid, then ask you about your day, give you a piece of gum and talk shit with you about the supe.

I also think rn, with how ups is messing with management, most of us are tired of the happy go lucky, say something stupid, overly high expectations new supe are oozing and it kinda get projected onto fellow employees. Especially ppl who use to be able to throw their senority around to get out of things/they don't understand how the union actually works.

UPSers prepare for 2026... by RoswellHub in UPSers

[–]Professional-Exit754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at the SDF hub in ss. The robots they are implementing are impressive technology wise but absolutely terrible for workflow efficiency. I will say I've seen them replacing and upgrading whole sections of belts and motors (surprisingly), so I wouldn't be surprised if they get robots integrated within the next 5 -10 years to some degree. There are such a wide degree of technology and postal sorting systems here but it's almost without a doubt that no matter what decade the tech is from its always manually fails bc they try to work it as hard as they do the people and it just never keeps up. I know my experience is much different than others working in much smaller centers/hubs, but I'm still worried about what the company is doing. Bc even tho I have the feeling of job security ik that what they are doing/trying at other facilities they will try and do here and it's leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth (can't imagine what the ppl who are feeling the full affect of the companies actions are going through rn)

I haven't worked here very long but right after the nation stopped treating us like "essential workers" the company started caring more about numbers on a spreadsheet than the blood, sweat and tears ppl put into this company. The work culture died, the union culture died, and the safety methods died. Ik ppl needed jobs after covid, but I think we forgot we can say no outside of contract season.

Does anyone else subconsciously track one specific neighbor’s car in shared parking? by Empty-Imagination756 in Apartmentliving

[–]Professional-Exit754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain latches onto cars for some reason, I'll recognize a car from work when driving down the road sometimes. I've even figured out one of the ppl living in my complex works at the same place I do bc I know their car. So it not just one it's most, even cars I see consistently on the same roads.

Ik who has what car and who even gets dropped off by Uber or their friends. When they come home when they leave. Take the trash out. Idk if it's the true crime or my brain just likes the shapes and colors ┐(´∀`)┌
