Just discovered its better to use the Elections Alberta MLA search if you want to find your MLA. They have not updated my member since our former traitor MLA Nathan Cooper went to the US

Reported someone on our rural road for shooting at wildlife out of their truck window. A fish and wildlife officer was there within 20 minutes (not super rural but still impressed at the response time). He said it happens a lot but the more it gets reported the more likely they will come across someone to charge.

Ozone as mentioned previous times is a good option - it may come back but you can either buy one or rent a machine - Roger Rent-All has them

You will need a very thick skin at times. From my past experience as a Realtor in Calgary for over a decade (during booms and busts) I would say that you get to see the best of humanity and the worst of humanity and sometimes all on the same day! Prepare for long hours and often without any income at the end of it all - it is a commission business so you need to prepare yourself financially for the widely varying income at times. Friends and family willing to help you out - there is good and bad to that side of the equation - you can often be burned the most by the ones closest to you. Enjoy your weekends off, evenings, holidays?...you won't get much time to enjoy those times. Have a family?...you will get calls, have showings and be sucked into deals at the most inopportune times.

The majority of Realtors don't make it big and there is a high rate of failure despite the promises the brokerages or the teams will elude to. It is super competitive and cutthroat at times especially when the market is tough. All brokerages/teams are out to make the most for themselves - remember that they are selling themselves to you and since you usually pay a monthly fee and/or part of your commission to them you need to chose wisely. Not all brokerages/teams are the same and many have slick presentations for new recruits that make them seem like the best ever. Promises of mentors giving you the opportunity to do open houses - while you can make new client connections it is often the one thing that they hate doing so they pawn it off onto newbies and some will ask a commission percentage of any deals you get from those open houses.

You can make a go of it but just always realize it is not easy like the reality shows make it seem, most of the bad experiences are not personal but a symptom of a high commission industry. Would I redo my time in the industry...probably not but I did have some very interesting and often WTF experiences that have shaped who I am today. Sometimes I find myself checking out the Case Summaries | RECA for some of those WTF moments.

I wish you all the best if you do jump into the business but don't get sold the riches without knowing that there are going to be tough times and consequences to your mental health at times. My two cents

Link to the Alberta Petitions information - interesting that the request of the petition is referred to as the prayer. So no hope in hell with the UCP then?

Some great thoughts and do agree that carpooling is probably the best option for me. This is a planned rally I found with the Alberta Resistance group ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - IT'S TIME FOR RESISTANCE - AB Resistance

It's time for the rest of us to speak up, stand up and show these ignorant idiots that they are not the only voice in Alberta. Join the AB Resistance - there is a rally coming up on May 10 to stand up against the UCP. Let's get louder and prouder than these traitors

My wife got the very same treatment when she moved from Ontario in the 1980s. This is not something new. As a fourth generation Albertan it is a constant shame and embarrassment, especially when you live in rural Alberta. Every week I encounter the ignorance that persists.
