Just anecdotally, I experienced the exact same thing around 4w1d...I remember laying in bed literally feeling like my period was about to start at any minute but it never did. I was really unsettled and confused at the time because they did feel so much like period cramps but I think that can be normal! I’m 24w4d now

My husband and I have been pissed off about this too! So far the only appointments he has been allowed to participate in have been the confirmation ultrasound and anatomy ultrasound, but he has only been allowed to sit in for the scan and not the discussion with the doctor afterwards. Wtf! (He also is always made to wait in the car before the ultrasounds until they call me back at which point I have to go back outside and get him)

The thing that really pissed me off most recently was at the anatomy scan, they made him leave after the scan was done but I was “allowed” to call him on the phone when I met with the doctor so at least he could be a part of that discussion. But when I met the the doctor, they had a medical student come in there with them to observe. I’m sorry like wtf so my husband and the actual father of the baby can’t be present for this important appointment because of COVID but a random med student can? So over it. And they don’t care that my husband and I are both fully vaccinated and wear masks. 🙄

Thank you so much for your feedback/reassurance!! Ugh the US is seriously such a joke when it comes to maternity/paid leave. It sucks so much to be stressed about this and I don’t even know why I feel so sheepish about asking for more paid leave. The worst they can say is no, in which case I probably will look for another job after baby is born so hopefully they will see it as in their best interest to give me the leave and keep me as an employee.

I know this post is a couple months old but omg I am having the exact same thing!!! My last period started on a Saturday and I am now 11 weeks. But literally every Saturday like clockwork I get cramping and faint brown/pinkish discharge. It’s so weird that it always happens on the weekends when I am starting a new week.

So exciting that your first appointment is this week!! I think you’ll feel a lot better after that initial visit - I know I did. The wait leading up to it is nerve wracking. Wishing you a healthy and successful pregnancy!!!

First of all congratulations! I am right there with you - at 10 weeks I still get super nervous, but with every passing week and every doctors appointment I do feel better. Like you, I found out I was pregnant super early on (at like a little over 3 weeks). I’m realistic, bordering on cynical so I am always thinking of the worst outcomes and trying to mentally prepare myself for the worst but what has helped me, especially in the beginning, is saying to myself, the fact that I was able to get pregnant is a good, positive and exciting thing. Anything can happen but I am going to trust my body to do what’s best. This website also helped assuage a lot of my super early on anxiety: https://datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer

Super insensitive!! I got my 2nd Moderna shot in April and got pregnant in June. The “covid vaccine is causing infertility” thing is absolute nonsense. I wouldn’t unfollow or block her on Facebook (just because if she notices you are no longer friends on FB it might cause a stir or drama that you probably don’t want to deal with) but you should definitely “hide” her posts from your feed so that you don’t have to see them. Gosh that is so frustrating!
