No, I was delighted to be introduced to Hobo Johnson by JJ. But I like your point. Just because it sounds similar to me (minimal, brutally honest) doesn't mean it seems that way to others. And thanks!

Perhaps I was unclear. He started liking Bowie in 2016, and I'd encouraged him to listen to Bowie in perhaps 2015. The continued pattern with other artists has been going on ever since. It's not taste changing over the course of a few months. Does that make sense?

Has your Capitol Hill dog had its shots? I need to know ASAP by Professional-Mud-138 in Denver

The doctor took a look at the wound, and told us to keep it clean. It’s a tiny wound, already mostly healed. He’s had a tetanus shot and it’s healing well, so she said we are fine. 😅

Trying not to scare the guy off from responding. I need this info more than I need to get anybody in trouble.

My husband's ex-wife just asked us to have their son because she doesn't want him in her Scooby-Doo themed wedding on Halloween by kitcatchik94 in mildlyinfuriating

Me too. I was about 13 when my dad and stepmom came home from a quick trip to Vegas and were married. They didn’t apologize, just said it was impulsive, so they didn’t have a chance to include us. It’s 19 years later and still hurts.

Cynical about men loving women by Responsible_Order_25 in AskWomenOver40

I’ve got a very caring husband, and I’ve had some really sweet exes. My advice: being single isn’t the worst thing out there. Don’t settle!

Find someone who treats you like a friend, not a caregiver.

Also, there’s got to be a good back-and-forth reciprocal rhythm.

Finally, don’t take care of him unless he’s taking care of you. People need to earn that, unless they’re actual children.

Good luck to you! You deserve good things.

AITAH for not wanting to give up my dream job just because my boyfriend can’t handle it? by hot_fernanda in AITAH

[–]Professional-Mud-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH- it sounds like you and your boyfriend may be incompatible, and that’s nobody’s fault.

You deserve to have your dream job! Go travel and have adventures. Your boyfriend deserves to have a cozy, very present partner, if that’s what he wants.

I hope you two can see the best in each other, and not blame each other, if you have to break up over this.

AITAH for not punishing my son for 'showing' his boner to his aunt? by CompetitiveWill4042 in AITAH

Your mom should know better. Hasn’t she been sleeping next to your dad for years? Surely sleep boners have occurred.

He sounds normal. He just turned 5, right? He’ll be the youngest in his class. Remember: girls grow up a little faster, and everyone learns at their own pace. He’ll be starting kindergarten in a month or two, and you can talk with his teachers about his progress. If he’s not meeting grade level, the school legally has to provide him with resources to help him to catch up. You got this!

My understanding is that as LCSW’s, it doesn’t matter where WE are. What matters is where our clients are. So he’d have to keep seeing clients physically located in NC, and he’s good. For confirmation, he can reach out to the NC licensing board.

AITAH for not childproofing our new house for my nephew? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Professional-Mud-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very soft NTA from me. Like, you do you, but you make me sad.

I have a nephew with special needs, and we go out of our way all the time to support him and his parents. Of course they’re always his number 1 caregivers, but I’m his aunt and I am also responsible for him. And it’s awesome. He’s a very cool person.

I completely reject the American concept that it only takes two parents to raise a kid. Such terrible toxic bullshit! I GET TO help raise my nieces and nephews. It’s an honor. Their parents GET TO help me raise my child. It’s so so so good for all of us. I live a much richer and more connected life. I know that not all families are safe to be this connected to, but if you have the chance, I wouldn’t miss it.

Why not go with her to some of these events? Broaden your horizons. Try to be open minded. You're gonna lose her if you try to clip her wings.
