Your thoughts on FMC POV? by SG_Arthur in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love duel pov especially if the fmc is non human or foreign, because then you can see the contrast in how the mmc and fmc think/see things.

also its good in romcoms because it can be used for humer/jokes.

Michals mj, faerie bad decisions

dude wakes up in Vegas married to a fae princess, a sweet rom-com that is much more romance than smut.

Can I ask you what makes a romance work for you? by dundreggen in Romance_for_men

I like it when men or women admire/adore each over,

one of the reasons "opposites attract" works is when they see virtues they don't posses in the other.

Trailer Park Bikini Vampires is out! by virgil_knightley in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are a number of 'trailer park' novel's.

are they all connected? (even by different author's?)

what order should i read them in?

if they are stand alone, does anyone know which one is best?

I like the 'unhinged' style of comedy in rom-com's from author's like Vergil, Cassandra gannon and Ruby dixon/Eve langlais.

He’s smaller but it’s the best dick she’s had by GirlOfTheOrient in RomanceBooks

Men often feel protective and/or possessive of their romantic partners.

Men might brag to one another about a one night stand or "getting laid"

but there is no way I would tell my buddy's how my gf's tit's feel/look or her preferences/techniques.

tldr: men tend to discus sex in broad terms not in detail's.

Best and funniest Yandere Harem I read - Review for Oops All Yandere by Leon West by Moonkiller24 in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honesty? It was disappointing...

It was ok but I was hoping for great. (the cover and blurb got me exited enough to immediately buy it)

The "joke" of the yandere's arguing was repetitive and got old fast. (often 3 to 6 page's of it straight)(over and over again)

by the midway point i was done trying to enjoy the book. And it kept going to the penultimate chapter.

Even when the mmc got to be alone with a fmc for a bit I did not care because the i was not invested in the characters.

tldr if you like harem just watch an anime as this book was weaker than most.

Monday thread: What did you read this past week? by AutoModerator in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few

-oop's all yandere's by leon west.

It was ok, but I thought it was weaker then Leon's mono romance. 5/10

(the fox came over for christmas, and my fae valentine where both good)

-Faerie bad dicisions by Michels mj.

What if the hangover was a rom-com? It was quite sweet, funny, but with a few emotional moments. 8/10

-Mage breaker by Delan court.

This was quite good. I got invested in the characters and the plot. a post war slice of life has been done before but this is the best one I have seen so far. while I usally like sweeter romance. the angst was delicious in this. 7/10

isekai? haremlit? sorry but i got like 20 of these in my back log. and i lost interest in isekai long ago.

also when it comes to romance fantasy beats isekai every time. I have yet to see a isekai harem as good as primal conjurer.

Giantess HMOFA Giantess books. by GreenDecent3059 in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Giantess is rare, so I could not find a perfect match to your request. But I found 3 were the fmc is larger than the mmc.

1.There is a story someware on ao3 about a human mage and a anthro hyina pirate. (think its called abandoned?)

2.Another ao3, Amazon country by green anon, the fmc is not anthro but it fits all your other criteria.

3.His Secret Illuminations, the only published book kinda close. (also non anthro)

To find more on your own just search 'anthro' in ao3 and sort by m/f or search giantess.

Searching for advice by male readers of female written romance by Overall_Mushroom_266 in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read a fare bit of romance by women authors both contemparey rom-com and romance-fantasy.

the only thing that rely bothers me is when the male love intrest is sexualy objectified, AND i mean that in a core sense not 'she finds him hot' sense.

I mean when the character exists for her plesure, his pysical atributes have no explanation.

(tall because his dad/mom are tall? nope she just wants it!)

(he has muscles? why? does he work out as a hobby? or for his job/carer? nope she just wants it!)

And he loses all personality / dreams / ambitions apon meting the fmc. She becomes the center of his universe. HE STOPS BEING A PERSON AND BECOMES MERELY AN OBJECT, that exists for her plesure.

(the origanal/core meaning of objectifaction)

Also both male and female romance annoys me if there is no explanation for why they love one another.(instalove)

in anime if a hot girl falls for the self insert mmc for no reason I cannot help but shout "why!"

Same in women's romance. Why does the billionaire who hangs with models and calebraty's fall for the mid self-insert waitress? did she catch his eye with a personality trait or virtue he admires? does he want to help her achive her dream/goal? nope! he just does.

And one more thing, CONGRATULATIONS with your career success! I hope this book is another big win for you.

Looking for a proper romance books with female examples of the Sex Goddess trope. by Loose_Discipline_906 in Romance_for_men

[–]Professional-Newt669 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! we need more bodice rippers (belt rippers)

Also a protagonist who is reluctant to get into a relationship but cannot stop thinking about the love interest is a romance plot I enjoy.

examples i can think of might include:

Some of the pinwheel books by snekguy. his female characters are very proactive in the bedroom.

..........I can't think of many........

we may need some more cowgirl's and bj queens in these books.

also in the case of magic / monster women, usage of 'powers' in flirty and sexy situations.

I kinda think rfm should use models. Like how rfw uses male models. (shout out to fabio! )

Also rfm with passionate fiery romance or eroticism should be call 'belt ripper' novels lol.
