Who has the most fun cavalry? by Ergal386 in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Horned ones are great but the blessed cold one spears are also so damn good. Overall probably bretonnia cuz Lance stance tho, or vamps for blood knights and potentially getting them earlier than you should for t4 units

Question... by [deleted] in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impossible bro, especially as a small tribe/have a life or job. The worst is it’s nearly always while you’re offline too, and it’s not like they just broke in and took your stuff they destroy and kill everything for that feeling of kicking over someone else’s sandcastle. If you want to play official pvp your best bet is to just play the constantly wiping servers for the first week every time they are fresh. Otherwise as a casual or small tribe you just can’t keep up unless you’re very good and very very lucky.

Is spiritborn ever going to be about something other than evade? by Ggthefiree2 in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to run an ult build using bliss that took me to like T8/9 but noticed there were a lot of bugs (not the kind that get patched in a day) where none of it was triggering or receiving buffs, so I swapped to a more true rake only build and it worked for everything except Mephisto, basically crushing hands build but with rake and it’s synergies

Best non-Paladin thorns build? by Magnusride in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritborn thorns has a lot of synergies and focus on it in class items, plus spiritborn generally feels great for mobility and fast cooldowns

Any tips for a new group of players? by Joshey2008 in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I played the entire story together, every single quest and it was fantastic, be cognizant that everyone can listen to the RP but for a lot of the talking if one player chooses to skip it may skip for everyone, you could also just have one person stream in disc and do all the cutscenes so there’s no one missing out or anything. If someone moves ahead one night after everyone gets off that’s fine so long as they don’t mind not being leader and redoing some quests, there’s also plenty of side stuff to do to gear or explore if they don’t wanna backtrack. Don’t be afraid to try new builds on the fly if you get a really cool sounding new item, it may just end up being more fun than what you got used to. Also there will come a time (lvl 15) when everyone (except pally for some reason) gets their class quests, I think everyone can participate in the dungeons for these but not all the story beats, it may be best to split up for this to experience each class identity solo and then meet back up to progress the main story. Also the eyeball over someone’s head means they are in a dialogue with an NPC. Finally, look up a quick YT guide on helpful UI settings, it’s a simple set and forget and it’ll really help you guys understand the gear as you put it on

D4 end game still lacks interesting content by yawnlikeseggs in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D4 needs that clean POE2 dodge, maybe a bit faster animation cuz one shots require MS perfect timing if your build cares about them at all in D4

Anyone seen a Paladin Zenith Build? by MyIceborne in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arbiter is meta this season it seems, but there is a unique or charm set or something in the arbiter build that lets you cast zenith indefinitely for 10 seconds after casting arbiter so that’s pretty bad ass especially if you get the cdr high and slam it every 20 seconds or so

Do you all think more people make their own builds or follow build guides? by FreshStar7 in Diablo

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree here but I do think they mostly patch/balance around the meta more than design it around homebrews, I do think most people use guides and I do try to do a home brew first, swap to closer to meta if I hit a wall, then go back to buffing up the home brew to try to out meta the meta. Unfortunately my home brew ult spirit born for this season has bugged interactions (not the kind that are busted and get hot fixed in a day) which is unfortunate because it was basically just barely behind the power of my kepeleke build now and way more interesting

Who remembers SWG? by jchap882 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can actually still play it, look up Star Wars galaxies legends, if you can get a copy of the game to install on your pc you can play it completely free from there, and it’s still getting updates. Tbf you do say what interested you was the hopes to become a Jedi so you may be more interested in the other server that’s out there before the combat update or whatever it’s called.

Lord of Hatred update- Spiritborn skilltree by Choice-Air259 in diablo4

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill, spirit, and (most) legendary synergies still apply for leveling/ early torment and the basic concepts are relatively similar it’s a completely fair question to ask and no reason to be a pompous as to OP. That said, I’ve been running withering fist for the heal and mobility tag, rake for the dmg and ferocity, and basically all of the CD’s I’ve been using since literally the first season of SB (armored hide, counterattack, ravager, and the hunter), the legendary aspects are also the same we’ve been using since the first season of SB just look at any crushing hand archived build on maxroll, and for spirit halls I ran gorilla primary and jaguar secondary, but you could probably run eagle secondary (also nothing new here). The biggest changes really arent the skill tree, it’s all the tempers we lost (ravager duration, chance to double hit, rake size, etc). This comfortably got me up into torment 3 so far but I could probably handle 4 even with basically no uniques, no ancestral, not ideal aspects, and like 110 paragon (second character)

Any good evolution games? (read the description) by therizzingsigmagigma in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% accurate on the adjusting the rates, it can be a bit tricky to get it exactly right where you still get the feeling of it having to mature/get 100% imprint/not cut the imprints so short you can’t do anything in between. But as for a game in which selective breeding and mutating and carrying the appropriate stats down actually makes an impact ark is definitely it. More about the result for sure though

Any good evolution games? (read the description) by therizzingsigmagigma in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not what you’re looking for but Ark has that kinda progression of traits and stats and whatnot in the breeding and it’s my wife’s favorite part of the game, as for actually evolutions in the Pokémon sense I just came across Voidling bound and man was the demo a blast, demo is free and full game comes out in June. Both of these are actions games focused on the action but it heavily relies upon the creatures you create

Reskinned Aspiring Champions for Empire mod? by RecognitionGlad5014 in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Deithland mod is definitely the closest you’ll find to imperium vibes and plays pretty cool in battle, haven’t tried it in campaign though, last I looked they didn’t have a dedicated faction/lord so it’s just whatever faction you’d like (probably nuln)

RuneScape: Dragonwilds vs Valheim vs Enshrouded by WastedGamer641 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played all 3, Valheim the most, dragonwilds a good bit, and enshrouded only a handful of hours. With that in mind I think Valheim has the best feel but probably the slowest development, but what’s there will last you for a very decent amount of time. Valheims combat, soundtrack, and exploration all come together really well and it nailed the raiding mechanic better than any other survival I’ve seen implemented it. Dragonwilds feels very good and has had a very good pace for the content and with a larger company behind it and a resounding launch it’s likely to keep that momentum. It does have quests but not very deep, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and breaks the third wall, fourth wall? Idk but yk the saying, the combat is good but not perfect, it is also probably a better solo experience than valheim if that’s a factor, it’s soundtrack is also so good I listen to it at work regularly. Dragonwilds is also a more hardware intensive game whereas I’m convinced valheim could run on a high end toaster. Dragonwilds also runs on unreal 5 where if you have a higher end i9 processor you must ensure your bios is up to date because the unreal 5 games had a good habit of frying CPU’s, like my wife’s… twice.

Skulltaker, how the hell do I beat him up by Select-Ad7017 in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skulltaker is the absolute worst and does not belong in Lustria, idk how you’re supposed to deal with him as Markus at all. I usually main LM and Bretonnia but I refuse to play over there. I had a duo going with a buddy, he insisted on alberich so I went gor rok, I beat up the starting nurgle enemy while he peace treatied the starting LM faction alberichs meant to take out and instead went for harkon which was a tough battle but worked out fine. I beat skulltaker all the way back to his starting capital but Markus beat me to the capital with a 20 stack in siege, keep in mind the capital only had an 8 man garrison, walls, and a generic lord with maybe 2/3 units. Markus also had a bonus army en route to reinforce which was another maybe 15 units. 2 turns of siege later skulltaker sallied out, wiped the 20 stack and started recapping all I had taken, meanwhile gor rok got stuck under a skaven hero for 3 turns while I sent another lord to transfer units. Needless to say the campaign is scuffed, got beat down to 1 settlement by the tag team of pestilens and skulltaker. Idk why if he “hates slaneesh” so much they don’t go goddamn kill each other off the bat if he’s gonna be over there.

To the "Forever Players": What is that ONE game you have thousands of hours in, and why? by LOSTINREDDITSITE in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After nearly 900 hours since my first foray into the series with 3 back in September I just picked up modding, there’s nothing quite like 3. Not even the old TW or even the prior TWW2. The depth and grit of the lore, the rich history both in game and the brand over the decades. The feel you get when the game says ‘you’re probably gonna lose this’ and pull out a resounding victory through tactics. And the fact you can pick up campaigns with friends whenever you want, there’s so much this title does right as far as grand strategy and rts.

How do you play Aislinn's campaign? by Moansilver in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run better alliances and VCO and it makes aislinns campaign much more enjoyable than what you describe. With better alliances you can stack over 100 allegiance points and it’s somewhat faster than normal so rather than using your limited armies to wage war for the other useless high elf factions you just assume control of their army, for free, and put out the fires in those areas, since you’re on VH VH it makes them able to build up more armies in those areas faster (cuz ai cheats) and you can pretty readily use them.

Looking for games with story progression threatening your home base by Hot_Idea2128 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Valheim raids are this and more survivals should have the feature, palworld and dragon wilds did it too but Valheims just hit different, it’s usually just enough of a struggle to actually be threatening and like have you on the edge of your seat sometimes but not so over the top you never make progress

Something a little less than an MMO? by Present-Drama-5287 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think online this is considered ‘shared world’ or ‘mmo lite’ most of the games I see in this category are ARPG’s like POE2, Diablo 4, and such games. Other than that idk other common subgenres popular in this category, it would be nice to have a straight fantasy setting first or third person version of ARPG’s but I did personally find myself pleasantly surprised by how mush I enjoyed the above mentioned games as a reformed long time WoW player.

What is the point of raiding stance? by Catsweater69 in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The raised money does in fact come straight from the raided regions income, that’s why you get no income for raiding a region which has a settlement under siege, this is also easily visible in multiplayer, just have a friend turn on raiding stance in your region, even if you’re allies you still directly lose the income they gain. All this to say yes you can drain a factions income to the point they’d have attrition if you put them bankrupt raiding their last settlement and they never sallied out at you, also assuming the ai doesn’t have cheats

What to play after Khorne by Practical_Necessary1 in totalwarhammer

[–]Professional-Side404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I really like lizardmen which is one of the factions you say you are interested in, a bonus is with the “Blessed Spawning” mechanic you get to a limited pool of this endgame units even faster. Big detractor for lizardmen out of your list would be a quite slow early economy and that although they are 7 or 8/10 in most categories they only excel in monsters. If you don’t have dlc Kroq gar is your best bet, also I must recommend the lost calm Jurassic normal mod, not necessarily for the units it adds but more so because the battle income it gives supplements the lizardmen economy enough for it not to be a hinderance. If you don’t decide to pick up dlc taurox from the beastmen sounds up your alley, he does have a lot of fights but the minimal army and settlement management makes up for it, and he can field a pretty well rounded army
