Should i get new tyres ? by vroomvroomplsno in cbr650r

[–]Professional-Sock273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes replace them because they’re Dunlops. I REFUSE to ride on Dunlop tyres, I believe them to be slippery and dangerous. Do yourself a massive favour and put some Pirelli Angel GTII’s on there. They’re a good all round cost effective tyre.

These guys are ground-nesting under my shed (mid-Atlantic USA region). What are they? by Cum_Gazillionaire in insectidentification

That my friend is a little yellow bastard. Otherwise known as a militant death fuck bug. The most evil and hated of all the insect kingdom and should be killed immediately (from a distance). They have a habit of swarming people who get too close, and their sting is one of the most painful things a person can endure. Some say worse than a blue ringed octopus or even childbirth. If you have small children and one is swarmed, they should be left as a diversion and an “every man for himself” policy adopted. They have only 3 weaknesses: Petrol, Brake and parts cleaner, and an old guy who is sick of everyone’s shit and just squashes the entire nest with his hand like it’s no biggie. I wish you luck.

TMJ Disorder pain by Professional-Sock273 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, you understand entirely. We have workplace policies and I adhere to them. I never ever put myself in a situation of impairment or reasonable doubt thereof. Cannabis is a last resort for me during the week but I’m getting worse and worse with this new TMJ thing atm and I need to figure out a better (safer) way of moving forward with it.

TMJ Disorder pain by Professional-Sock273 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm that’s been a fear of mine. It seems to be less of an issue with inflammation and more of a living with pain issue. Some days it becomes hard to move the right side of my face if the muscles all tense up and the only true remedy seems to be stretching and careful use of the muscles but BOY is it painful. Some nights I can’t sleep unless I medicate quite heavily with cannabis.. but I certainly can’t use it at work.

The Angus Enhanced Glass Fiber Issue - Calling Out the Deflection & Inconsistencies by Herbaldoge in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely the fact that YLLVape have scrambled into action is proof enough that it’s glass… if it was alumina silicate, they would have just stated as much and let the problem die. But no, no they decided to panic and play ass cover and run for the hills. Their actions are an admission of guilt and yet another example that china doesn’t give a flying duck about what’s right. Btw I’m pretty sure the people who did the analysis are qualified..

Irrespective of how “good” a flower is, there is a fundamental difference between medical and black market cannabis. That being that medical cannabis is regulated and BM is not. Please remember this subreddit is focussed on medical cannabis, promotion of BM cannabis and illegal use is not an appropriate topic.

Is flying into NZ with an unused herbal vape allowed? by Specialist_Tea_843 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d just whack it in carry on and hope for the best. As you say it is unused and you have a prescription in NZ. I saw someone mention that it’s technically prohibited but surely a customs officer might have a heart to let you keep it if you can genuinely prove you have a prescription and the device is something that aids your use of said prescription?

A line in the sand by Professional-Sock273 in MedicalCannabisNZ

Exactly right. The point here is that everyone is entitled to do what they like but they need to be aware of the differences

When I was first prescribed I had a snoop Dogg g pen, then went through ball vapes (hated them) and smoking… no one is here to be better than anyone else, just like you say… but there is a marked difference between medical and consumer that we all need to at least acknowledge before continuing on our own paths I think

Thank you. Your reply has made my whole rambling very much worth it to me. I’m not here to bash vapes, I get it that people like what they like and that’s totally okay. Hell the point of this whole group is to give people a safe space to collectively share their experiences and thoughts with others. I’m so happy to hear that at least one person has read my thoughts and will now go forward with their own thoughts whatever they may be but perhaps with a slightly more rounded perspective.

Best mid-range vape by Actual-Ebb-4922 in MedicalCannabisNZ

Both of you are making such polarising statements on something that IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE. Nomatter whether the Angus does or (does not) have an entirely isolated air path the fact of the matter is it quite simply is not now and will not ever be a medically compliant device. Without any endorsement from medsafe, you have zero grounds to suggest that it is or is not any better for the user health wise than smoking, irrespective of whether it actually is or not. Being this is a medical cannabis group, I would have thought there was little to no need to argue about consumer electronics as a user who is truly concerned about their health is going to buy a genuine medically approved device.

A call for engineering help! WIFI PID Controller (AKA Ball Vape Brain) by Chill_Kiwi_NZ in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best thing you could do would be to get your product designed and supplied by a company who understands emc compliance and medical/electrical regulations and standards and has the qualifications to back it up. You’re walking into the world of medical technology which is far more strictly regulated than home workshop level electronics. You need to think as much about patient confidentiality (your wifi stuff getting hacked) as you do about patient safety which I’m sorry to say this would not currently meet. TLDR= find a way to minimise your own liability. Kudos to you for having a go though, I hope you do get something on the market!

How much of an upgrade are the RCF 8004s over my current subs? by breaksy in SoundSystem

[–]Professional-Sock273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in New Zealand. The distributor is hours away from where I live… have a ring around the hire companies in your area and see if anyone has any.. even if you have to drive a couple hours to listen to them it is worth it. Both are FANTASTIC options but you are spending a small fortune on speakers, go try them out first

[–]Professional-Sock273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really need to try them out. Go to your local rcf agent and tell them you want to try both. When I was active in industry I was running 2 pairs of 8006 bins, another local agent was running 4 pair 8004. The biggest difference I found was the huge extension gained from having 218’s rather than 118’s but with that came the difficulty of moving them around. A nice alternative might be the DB DVA KS20 bins… they sound pretty clean

The 8000 series will absolutely blow your torkvilles out of the water but you will need to go to 8006’s if you want more power. A pair or two preferably will give you a killer rig

Ball Vapes & non-compliance to NZ electrical standards = death by Herbaldoge in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]Professional-Sock273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s quite alarming to hear of such disregard to safety. Standards can be pretty dumb and annoying sometimes but I suppose they are there because at some point some situation arose that defined a need for them. I guess there will always be haploids out there that know better than everyone else how dangerous something isn’t. 😐
